NFL Player News - Week of 5/25/20

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

Colts | Jacob Eason focused on consistency
Indianapolis Colts fourth-round pick QB Jacob Eason had a tendency to force passes into tight windows in college because he has such a strong arm. Those windows close quicker in the NFL, and Eason knows he has to work on consistency and avoid tunnel vision locking on receivers. 'I think his arm talent was probably the best in the draft as far as quarterbacks go,' head coach Frank Reich said. 'What I liked about his arm talent is he can throw it on a rope, he can throw it long, he can throw with touch, he can change the speed on the ball and he can deliver from different arm angles.'

Eagles | Dallas Goedert busy in 2019
Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert played more snaps in 2019 than all but nine other tight ends.

Eagles | Greg Ward in line to start?
Philadelphia Eagles WR Greg Ward Jr. is 'the top option' for the slot receiver role in 2020, according to to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

Eagles | Zach Ertz on a record pace
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz's 525 receptions are the most by a tight end in NFL history through their first seven seasons.

Saints | Jared Cook delivered big plays
New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook scored a career-high nine touchdowns in 2019 while averaging 16.4 yards per catch and logging 15 receptions of at least 20 yards.

Bears | Ted Ginn Jr. the No. 3?
Chicago Bears WR Ted Ginn Jr. has the 'slight edge' over WR Javon Wims and WR Cordarrelle Patterson for the No. 3 receiver role, according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com, but Rosenthal doesn't believe any of them will play 'starter' snaps.

Lions | Not much difference between Detroit WRs?
Detroit Lions WRs Kenny Golladay amassed 35 catches on 62 targets for 640 yards and seven touchdowns with Matthew Stafford as his quarterback in 2019. Meanwhile, Marvin Jones tallied 42 receptions on 57 targets for 535 yards and six TDs prior to Stafford getting hurt.

Broncos | Courtland Sutton's splits with Drew Lock
Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton caught 22 of his 40 targets for 280 yards and two touchdowns in five games with Drew Lock as the starting quarterback in 2019. In his 11 other games, Sutton hauled in 50 of his 84 targets for 832 yards and four TDs.

Redskins | Steven Sims got it done late last season
Washington Redskins WR Steven Sims was one of only 16 wide receivers to amass at least 20 catches over the final four weeks of 2019. Of that group, his four touchdowns were tied with Cooper Kupp for the second-highest total in that timeframe.
    Link to story

Steelers | Diontae Johnson finished with a bang
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson tallied 23 catches over the final four weeks of 2019 - good for the eighth-best total by a wide receiver in that span.

Bengals | Joe Mixon poured it on after the bye
Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon rushed for 817 yards following the team's Week 8 bye. Only Derrick Henry ran for more yards (959) over that same span, while no back topped Mixon's 177 rushing attempts.

Jets | Jamison Crowder excelled with Sam Darnold
New York Jets WR Jamison Crowder caught 70 of his 107 targets for 758 yards and six touchdowns in the 13 games Sam Darnold was able to play in 2019. In three games without Darnold, Crowder tallied eight receptions on 15 targets for 75 yards and zero scores.

Texans | Deshaun Watson hits his mark with regularity
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson was on target with 72.5 percent of his throws in 2019 - tied for the fourth-best mark by a quarterback with at least 300 pass attempts.
Footballguys view: It's not just about being on target. Watson also does a good job of leading his receivers and throwing a catchable ball. It will be interesting to see the Texans passing game without superstar WR DeAndre Hopkins in 2020.
    Link to story
    Deshaun Watson player page

Vikings | Kirk Cousins made it easy for his receivers
Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins threw a catchable ball 78.8 percent of the time in 2019 - tied for the third-best mark by a quarterback with at least 300 pass attempts.
Footballguys view: The play-action passing game from a Gary Kubiak offense helps. It also helps that Cousins usually gets rid of the ball on time and does not have to rush his throws. They traded away Stefon Diggs this offseason to the Bills, but they added a wide receiver in the first round when they selected Justin Jefferson out of LSU. We'll see how Jefferson works out with Cousins in 2020.

    Kirk Cousins player page

Rams | Jared Goff kept clean last season
Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff was sacked on only 3.3 percent of his 662 dropbacks in 2019 - the second-lowest mark for a quarterback with at least 615 dropbacks in a season since 2015.
Footballguys view: Goff needs to do a better job with so little pressure getting home. He threw 10 fewer touchdowns in 2019 than he did in 2018 and he threw more interceptions last year than the previous season. The team is going to be a volume-based passing attack again this year and a more efficient/improved Goff would help them greatly.

Packers | Little middle ground for Aaron Rodgers in 2019
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers led the league with 109 pass attempts behind the line of scrimmage and ranked second in attempts of at least 20 yards with 102. Conversely, he finished 15th in attempts between zero and 10 yards (236) and 18th on throws between 10 and 20 yards (100).
Footballguys view: Rodgers does a good job of attacking all three levels of the field as a passer. He was a QB1 for Fantasy GMs last year and should perform at a similar level this season.
    Link to story
    Aaron Rodgers player page

Panthers | Joey Slye packed a punch with his foot
Carolina Panthers PK Joey Slye converted eight of his 11 field-goal attempts from 50-plus yards in 2019, tying him with Matt Bryant for the second-highest total in a season since Justin Tucker went 10-for-10 in 2016.
    Link to story

Seahawks | Russell Wilson exceptional downfield
Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was accurate on 17 of his 26 passes (65.4 percent) that traveled 31 or more yards downfield and five of his six passes that traveled at least 41 yards (83.3 percent) in 2019, making him the most accurate passer in the league on such throws. Wilson also finished second in passes that traveled at least 35 yards in the air (60 percent).
Footballguys view: Calling Wilson accurate on deep passes is selling him short. It's not about getting the ball on target but it's also about pass placement, throwing with anticipation and leading his receiver to maximize yards after the catch. Wilson does all that and it's what helps him stand out as a passer at the pro level.
    Link to story
    Russell Wilson player page

Cardinals | Kyler Murray on point on deep throws
Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray was accurate on seven of his 10 passes that traveled more than 35 yards downfield in 2019, making him the most accurate passer in the league on such throws. Murray also finished second in passes that traveled at least 31 yards in the air (64.3 percent) and fourth in attempts of at least 41 yards (50).
Footballguys view: These are strong numbers for a rookie in the NFL. Murray has even better weapons around him this season with the trade for superstar WR DeAndre Hopkins. We should see similar or even improved numbers in this metric for the 2020 season.
    Link to story
    Kyler Murray player page

Buccaneers | Three likely to compete for No. 3 WR job
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WRs Justin Watson, Scott Miller and Tyler Johnson are expected to compete for the No. 3 receiver job during training camp.
Footballguys view: The Buccaneers have Mike Evans and Chris Godwin at the top of the depth chart. Add in three talented tight ends like Rob Gronkowski, O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate and you can see how the no.3 receiver may not get a lot of looks. Watson and Miller have varying levels of pro experience while Johnson is a rookie. A fifth-round pick out of Minnesota, Johnson is limited athletically but knows how to use his frame and strength to win contested catches. We'll see this battle shake out in training camp.

Browns | Two WRs could return punts
Cleveland Browns WRs JoJo Natson and Donovan Peoples-Jones will be candidates for the punt returner job.
Footballguys view: Peoples-Jones had plenty of punt return experience in college at Michigan, including a couple that were returned for touchdowns. He's got build-up speed on the football field but his strength to break tackles might help him stand out.
    Link to story

Broncos | KJ Hamler may be returner
Denver Broncos WR KJ Hamler may be asked to return some kicks and punts this upcoming season but likely will not have the role on a full-time basis because of his role in the offense.
Footballguys view: Hamler has elite-level speed and that's one of the many reasons why the Broncos drafted him. He can change direction without losing much speed which makes him dangerous as a return man or a slot receiver. He'll be the no.3 receiver for the Broncos behind Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy.
    Link to story

Jets | David Fales may make roster
New York Jets QB David Fales could make the final roster if QB Joe Flacco (neck) is not cleared for the start of the season. QB James Morgan is expected to be the No. 3 quarterback in 2020, so the Jets may have to keep four quarterbacks on the roster.
Footballguys view: Fales knows the system because he's played under Gase since their days with the Dolphins. He was with the Lions in training camp last year but was released at final cuts and landed with the Jets for most of the 2019 season.
    Link to story
    Joe Flacco player page

Patriots | Dalton Keene could work at FB
New England Patriots TE Dalton Keene may receive playing time at fullback moving forward. FB Danny Vitale said he has been helping Keene learn the position better.
Footballguys view: Keene was one of the most versatile tight ends in this draft class. He was a high school quarterback and running back. In college at Virginia Tech, the third-round pick played tight end, H-back, fullback and could line up in the slot. The Patriots should be able to use him in a number of different ways.
    Link to story

Chargers | Hunter Henry still hoping for extension
Los Angeles Chargers TE Hunter Henry said that he is 'fine' playing under the franchise tag for the 2020 season, although he would still like to agree to a long-term contract extension with the team. Henry said that contract talks have already taken place, although there have been no recent discussions.
Footballguys view: Henry has signed his tender, so he's under a one-year, $10.6 million contract for the 2020 season. He's incredibly talented but has trouble staying healthy. We'll see how his injury history plays into contract negotiations. The NFL deadline for players with franchise tags to sign long-term deals is July 15.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott reportedly wants four-year deal
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott reportedly is interested in a four-year contract extension, while the team is interested in a five-year contract, according to a source. A potential deal could make Prescott No. 1 or No. 2 among NFL quarterbacks in either average salary or guaranteed money.
Footballguys view: The deal is going to be near or at the top of the quarterback charts...until the Chiefs sign Patrick Mahomes to a long-term deal. Deals get done at deadlines in the NFL, and that is coming up in mid-July. The two sides seem to be open to getting something done and as we get closer to the deadline we should see something happen.

Wouldn't call it choking, he's probably not all that good to begin with, he hit a few good shots. His head is probably in Arians play book.

If Hunter Henry could stay healthy, he might crack top 5 tight ends list.

    Tuesday Update

Dolphins | Tua Tagovailoa could play as a rookie
Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa could play if he wins the job at some point this season, according to sources. The team would prefer to start QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, but the coaches aren't opposed to starting Tagovailoa.

Panthers | Christian McCaffrey got it done after catch
Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey amassed 1,009 yards after the catch in 2019 - 43 more than second-place Austin Ekeler (966) and 137 more than any other back since at least 2015, according to Sports Info Solutions.

Lions | Matthew Stafford got aggressive in 2019
Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford's average throw depth was 10.6 yards in 2019 - tied for the highest mark by a quarterback with at least 250 pass attempts since at least 2015. It was also his best mark over that same span by 2.6 yards per throw.

NFL | Devonta Freeman plans to play
Free-agent RB Devonta Freeman (Falcons) said he does not plan to retire and believes he can play 10 more seasons.

Steelers | Coach expects more from Benny Snell
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Benny Snell should be able to be more productive for the Steelers this upcoming season since he will be more comfortable playing in the NFL, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Footballguys view: The Steelers may reduce the workload for James Conner this year. That leads to more time for Snell (among others). The Steelers have an interesting collection of backs and we'll see how this RBBC shakes out. In addition to Conner and Snell, the team drafted scatback Anthony McFarland out of Maryland this year. They also still have the multi-dimensional Jaylen Samuels in the RB room as well. Let's see how this shakes out in camp and the preseason.

Bills | Gabriel Davis putting in work
Buffalo Bills fourth-round pick WR Gabriel Davis has been in California working with QB Josh Allen recently. He was previously in Florida running routes with WR John Brown.
Footballguys view: Davis is a deep threat, and he could build strong chemistry with Allen on such throws. He has great ball-tracking ability and he excels on 'go' routes. We have an appreciation for Davis in dynasty formats.

    Wednesday Update

Falcons | Throwing to Calvin Ridley pays off
Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley hauled in 63 of 75 catchable targets and scored seven touchdowns in 2019. Additionally, Atlanta quarterbacks enjoyed a passer rating of 114.7 when throwing in his direction - the 11th-best passer rating for any receiver or tight end with at least 50 targets. The passer rating mark was lower than it was when Ridley was a rookie in 2018; he finished eighth among receivers and tight ends with at least 50 targets at 119.9.
Footballguys view: If healthy, Ridley should be in line for over 100 targets in a season for the first time in his career. Ridley's touchdown rate is among the highest in the NFL over the past two seasons. His game makes him a flex-worthy player each week for Fantasy GMs in 2020.
    Link to story
    Calvin Ridley player page

Packers | Allen Lazard kind to his quarterback
Green Bay Packers WR Allen Lazard corralled 35 of his 43 catchable targets and scored three touchdowns in 2019, contributing to a passer rating of 115.6 when Aaron Rodgers threw in his direction. The passer rating mark ranked ninth in the league among receivers and tight ends with at least 50 targets.
Footballguys view: The big-bodied former Iowa State receiver had a breakout season in 2019 with 35 catches for 477 yards and three touchdowns. He needs to be more consistent with his targets and his role within the offense to be more fantasy relevant. We'll see if he can win the no.2 job opposite of Davante Adams. He'll compete with free agent signing Devin Funchess and 2019 disappointment Marquez Valdes-Scantling for playing time.
    Link to story

Redskins | QB uncertainty didn't affect Terry McLaurin
Washington Redskins WR Terry McLaurin hauled in 58 of 67 catchable targets and scored seven touchdowns as a rookie in 2019. Additionally, quarterbacks enjoyed a passer rating of 115.8 when throwing in his direction - the eighth-best passer rating for any receiver or tight end with at least 50 targets.
Footballguys view: Washington had problems at the quarterback position last year but that didn't stop McLaurin from enjoying a fine rookie season. He was the lone bright spot in that passing game and we're excited to see what he can do for an encore this season. McLaurin already has chemistry with QB Dwayne Haskins, and the 2019 first-round pick should be the starting quarterback for Washington this year...if he can beat out Kyle Allen in camp. McLaurin is a WR2 with upside for Fantasy GMs.
    Link to story
    Terry McLaurin player page

Texans | Kenny Stills got it done with limited chances
Houston Texans WR Kenny Stills caught 40 of 45 catchable targets and scored four touchdowns in 2019. Additionally, quarterbacks enjoyed a passer rating of 124.1 when throwing in his direction - the fifth-best passer rating for any receiver or tight end with at least 50 targets.
Footballguys view: Stills should have continued importance in the Texans passing game. It will be interesting to see how they look without superstar WR DeAndre Hopkins on the field. That could mean more targets for Stills in 2020 who could have deep flex appeal in 2020.
    Link to story
    Kenny Stills player page

Saints | QBs felt good throwing to Jared Cook
New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook caught 43 of 52 catchable targets and scored a career-high nine touchdowns in 2019. Additionally, quarterbacks enjoyed a passer rating of 137.0 when throwing in his direction - the best passer rating for any receiver or tight end with at least 50 targets.
Footballguys view: Throwing to Cook makes good things happen...especially in the Saints offense. He's always been athletically gifted but Cook flourished last year in his first season in New Orleans. He's a TE1 for Fantasy GMs and could end up as a top-5 player at his position in 2020.

Jets | Sam Darnold Needs Improvement
New York Jets QB Sam Darnold was accurate on 52 percent of his throws that traveled more than five yards downfield in 2019. Every other qualified quarterback was 57.1 percent accurate on similar throws.
Footballguys view: Darnold needs to have more time to throw and he needs to be more accurate when he does. The Jets made moves in the draft (Denzel Mims) and free agency (Breshad Perriman) to boost the passing game. We'll see if further development and these new weapons help Darnold play better in 2020.

    Sam Darnold player page

Falcons | Julio Jones still a playmaking machine
Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones has recorded 286 receptions that have resulted in first downs or touchdowns since 2016, according to Pro Football Focus. Jones trailed only Michael Thomas (299) for the most over that span.
Footballguys view: Jones is still a dominant player, although Fantasy GMs do gripe that he doesn't score enough touchdowns. As the Falcons passing game continues to develop we'll still see Jones at the top of the charts.
    Link to story
    Julio Jones player page

Saints | Michael Thomas blazing an impressive trail
New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has recorded an NFL-best 299 receptions that resulted in first downs or touchdowns since entering the league in 2016, according to Pro Football Focus.
Footballguys view: His Twitter handle says it all 'Can't Guard Mike' and that's the truth. Thomas has some help in the WR room this year as the team went out and added veteran Emmanuel Sanders in free agency. We'll see Thomas continue to dominate in 2020.
    Link to story

Colts | Parris Campbell to play more in slot
Indianapolis Colts WR Parris Campbell will play more in the slot in 2020, according to head coach Frank Reich Tuesday, May 26. 'I'm super pumped about Parris and his upside,' Reich said.
Footballguys view: Campbell was limited to just seven games as a rookie in 2019 and we're interested to see how he meshes with veteran QB Philip Rivers. He's got big-play ability with the speed and burst to score from anywhere on the field. If healthy, Campbell could be worth a 'what the heck' flex in certain matchups.

Jaguars | Offense to be tailored to Gardner Minshew
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew will have the offense tailored to him in 2020, according to offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. 'It's my job to make it mesh, to take on the personality of our quarterback - and for him to understand what we're trying to get accomplished on play-to-play, game-to-game, week-to-week basis is going to be critical,' Gruden said. ... 'Now, it's just a matter of him getting some general knowledge of our offense and me figuring out what he likes, what he doesn't like - what makes him tick - and go from there.'
Footballguys view: The Jaguars have to do what they can to get the best out of Minshew. They brought in Mike Glennon, but he's not real threat to the starting position. The dirty secret in the NFL is that it's all about fit. Gruden is a seasoned coach who knows that and will work to get the best out of his young quarterback.

NFL | Josh Johnson waiting on NFL to call
Free-agent QB Josh Johnson (XFL) wants to return to the NFL for the 2020 season and is patiently waiting for his chance. 'I think about it every day,' said Johnson. 'I'm waiting for the opportunity call from the NFL. ... One thing I've learned in the NFL, trying to stick around (requires) patience. You never know when an opportunity is going to come. So I just have to stay ready, and don't let nothing bring it down because I might get the call at Week 1 or I might get the call at Week 16.' Johnson played for 13 NFL teams across 12 seasons before joining the LA Wildcats of the now-bankrupt XFL.
Footballguys view: Johnson has played for around half the teams in the league. They've seen what he can do and certainly have his number. He could latch on with a new team sometime around training camp or the start of the regular season.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde to complement Chris Carson
Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde is expected to complement RB Chris Carson with early-down work in 2020, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.
Footballguys view: That sounds about right. The Seahawks needed someone to back up Carson with former first-round pick Rashaad Penny expected to be placed on the PUP list to begin the regular season. Hyde is coming off a 1,000-yard season with the Texans in 2019 and has a running style similar to that of Carson.

Texans | Duke Johnson to benefit from full offseason
Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson will gain a better understanding of the offense during his first full offseason with the team, according to offensive coordinator Tim Kelly. 'A lot of this stuff that we're covering right now, it's the first time (Johnson and David Johnson) really being able to kind of hear it in-depth and it's really, really good.'
Footballguys view: Johnson can be utilized as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. He'll be a change-of-pace back behind starter and lead back David Johnson. Duke Johnson has some deep flex appeal in PPR leagues because of his ability as a receiving back.

Jets | Joe Flacco expects to miss first few weeks
New York Jets QB Joe Flacco (neck) said Tuesday, May 26, on SiriusXM NFL Radio he won't be ready for the season opener following offseason surgery. 'I can't speak to exactly when I'm going to be ready, but it will not be Day 1,' Flacco said. Rich Cimini of ESPN expects Flacco to debut for the Jets in mid-September.
Footballguys view: The Jets picked up Flacco as veteran insurance behind Sam Darnold. He won't be ready for the start of the regular season but may avoid the PUP list. Flacco did not impress last year with the Broncos, so don't expect much if he's pressed into duty with the Jets.

Patriots | N'Keal Harry to play quicker in 2020
New England Patriots WR N'Keal Harry has been working on his footwork this offseason in an effort to be quicker in 2020. Harry has also been working on creating more separation.
Footballguys view: Harry is a run-after-the-catch specialist but you wouldn't call him quick off the line of scrimmage. We'll see if this extra work can come through on the field in 2020. In his rookie season, Harry barely produced in seven games, catching only 12 passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns. In deeper leagues, Harry is worth considering as a WR6 or WR7 with upside.

    N'Keal Harry player page

Chiefs | Patrick Mahomes steady under pressure
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has the top passing grade when under pressure over the last two seasons, according to Pro Football Focus.
Footballguys view: Mahomes is cool under fire. He's got the ability to buy time with his feet while keeping his eyes downfield. Add in the fact that he can make most any throw from any platform and it's easy to see how dangerous Mahomes can be under pressure.

Bears | Preseason to determine QB1 in Chicago
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said Tuesday, May 26, QBs Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles will both see time working with the starters in preseason games.
Footballguys view: Trubisky was supposed to be the franchise quarterback for the Bears but he has disappointed as a pro. Foles has experience and a championship history. He's worked under Nagy before when he was with the Chiefs, so Foles may not take that long to get up to speed. In fact, Foles may just end up winning the starting job. We'll see how this shakes out in training camp.

Jaguars | DJ Chark Jr.'s potential untapped?
Jacksonville Jaguars WR DJ Chark Jr. can do a little more due to his size, speed and ability to get out of breaks, according to offensive coordinator Jay Gruden Tuesday, May 26. Gruden called Chark an excellent physical specimen and said the third-year receiver will move around and play out of the slot some in 2020.
Footballguys view: Chark has shown a high level of ability as a pro. He's coming off a career-high 73-catch, 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019. That made him the no.17 wide receiver in standard-scoring leagues last year. He's got a strong connection with QB Garnder Minshew and could outperform his current ADP of WR28 (6.05) in 12-team leagues.
    Link to story
    D.J. Chark Jr player page

Seahawks | Colby Parkinson has sure hands
Seattle Seahawks fourth-round pick TE Colby Parkinson didn't drop a pass in 2019 at Stanford. He had 48 catches for 589 yards and one touchdown. Parkinson doesn't have blazing speed, but he has a good understanding of route running and space. Stanford used him all over the field.
Footballguys view: Parkinson had only three drops in 165 career targets at Stanford. He's a huge target, standing at 6-feet-7-inches and knows how to use his frame to secure passes. Parkinson is not much of a threat after the catch, and his blocking needs work. The rookie will try to work his way up the depth chart in 2020. Seattle has Greg Olsen and Will Dissly atop the depth chart this season.

Foles in the right situation can be successful. I don’t think Bears are right situation though. How does the gm still have his job in Chi? Traded up to draft a kid who shouldn’t even be in nfl much less your starting qb. traded a pick and absorbed a terrible contract in Foles to compete with Mitch when he could have gotten cam or Jameis for next to nothing.

Bears un 8.5 seems very easy.

    Thursday Update

Chargers | Joe Reed likely to be a gadget
Los Angeles Chargers fifth-round pick WR Joe Reed is expected to be used as a gadget player lining up in the slot, out wide and in the backfield. Reed forced 15 missed tackles on 77 receptions last year at Virginia, per Pro Football Focus.
    Link to story

Eagles | Varied role expected for Jalen Reagor in 2020
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jalen Reagor is expected to be used in a 'variety of roles' - including out of the slot - and similar to the way Nelson Agholor was deployed during his breakout 2017 campaign in which he tallied 62 catches for 768 yards and eight touchdowns, according to Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan.
Footballguys view: Reagor can play all over the field. His speed is best used outside and he played 657 snaps there for TCU in 2019. Reagor can also be utilized in the slot as evidenced by his 113 snaps played there last season for the Horned Frogs. Expect the Eagles, a team desperate for WR help, to move the 2020 first-round pick all over the field.
    Link to story

Cowboys | Dak Prescott better with more options
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott was accurate on only 60.9 percent of his throws with three receivers running a route in 2019. However, that mark increased to 81.8 percent when he had four pass-catchers available to him and 79.3 percent with five receivers running a route.
Footballguys view: Prescott now has more firepower at the wide receiver position with the selection of CeeDee Lamb in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. He'll team up with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup to create one of the best WR trios in the league. Prescott could post even better numbers in 2020.
    Link to story
    Dak Prescott player page

Raiders | Derek Carr was sharp late in games in 2019
Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr was 72.3 percent accurate on his throws in the fourth quarter of games in 2019 - the best such mark of any qualified quarterback last season.
Footballguys view: Carr is a solid starter but the Raiders are looking for an upgrade. That's why they brought Marcus Mariota in as a free agent to compete with Carr for the starting job. We expect Carr to win the job but this battle will have to shake out in training camp.
    Link to story
    Derek Carr player page

Redskins | Dwayne Haskins impressing his OC
Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins has spent the last few months throwing with WRs Terry McLaurin and Kelvin Harmon and is 'doing a great job' so far this offseason, according to offensive coordinator Scott Turner.'We're putting a lot of work in, obviously abiding by the rules that the NFL has set forth - four days a week, two hours a day. We're kind of throwing a lot at them. In the beginning of every meeting, we do some quizzes. Just test their retention. When we're talking to him, he is speaking the language. It's pretty easy to tell if they get it or not. Dwayne's doing a great job. You can tell he's putting the work in away from the meeting time, and he's working at it and doing as much as he can. ... The time he's putting in with the receivers, Terry and Kelvin, they all have been throwing together for some time now. That's all positive. Obviously as a coach and with me, coming in new and putting in this new offense I'd love to have more time with him, but it is what it is. I think that we're doing a great job with making the most of the situation,' Turner told the writers during a video call Wednesday, May 27.
Footballguys view: Haskins was the team's 2019 first-round pick but that was the last coaching regime. We'll see if Ron Rivera likes him more than Kyle Allen in training camp. Haskins has tools and did flash just a bit last year as a rookie in limited action.
    Link to story

Ravens | Lamar Jackson lethal against Cover-0
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson finished 19-for-25 and threw for 12 touchdowns against Cover-0 coverage - an all-out blitz with man coverage and no deep safety - in 2019.
Footballguys view: Teams should not send all-out blitzes against Jackson. His athleticism is as dangerous as we've ever seen in the NFL. Jackson is also a better passer than some realize, meaning he can beat the blitz with his legs or his arm.
    Link to story
    Lamar Jackson player page

Texans | Will Fuller got it done when he was healthy
Houston Texans WR Will Fuller finished with 670 receiving yards in 2019 - the second-highest total for a player who played fewer than 12 games last season - although more than half of that total (357 yards) came in two of his 11 contests.
Footballguys view: Fuller is incredibly talented but he's always banged up. He's never played a full 16-game regular season as a pro and he might not get through this year unscathed. The Texans traded away DeAndre Hopkins and that could open up things for Fuller to do more...if he can stay healthy. He's at least a WR2 and every-week starter when Fuller is on the field.

Giants | Golden Tate did a lot in little time
New York Giants WR Golden Tate produced 676 receiving yards in 2019 - the highest total for a player who played fewer than 12 games last season.
Footballguys view: Tate appeared in 11 games in his first season with the Giants. His numbers made him the no.40 fantasy receiver in 2019 (standard-scoring leagues). If healthy for a full 16-game season, Tate should perform like a WR3/flex player in 2020.
    Link to story
    Golden Tate player page

Redskins | Adrian Peterson will have a role
Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson will have a role in the offense this upcoming season, according to offensive coordinator Scott Turner.
Footballguys view: Peterson will have the role of lead back if Derrius Guice cannot stay healthy again. If Guice is able to stay healthy, then Peterson gives the team some power as a part-time back who would work in short-yardage and goal-line situations.
    Link to story
    Adrian Peterson player page

Browns | Baker Mayfield working on footwork
Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield said he has been working on a change to his footwork that offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt asked him to try out. He said he is getting more comfortable with the new footwork.
Footballguys view: Mayfield had a disappointing sophomore season in 2019. The Browns have built a better offensive line around him and he's got upgraded weapons in the passing game. That should help him have a bounce-back season (along with improved footwork) in 2020.
    Link to story
    Baker Mayfield player page

Ravens | Lamar Jackson to work out with teammates
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is scheduled to work out with some of his teammates next week, according to WR Miles Boykin.
Footballguys view: Jackson's going to keep his game sharp. He's developing as a passer and still the most dangerous runner in the league...at any position. Jackson has a current ADP of QB2 (2.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.
    Link to story

Steelers | Diontae Johnson played with injury
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (groin) said he played most of the 2019 season with a groin injury and had to undergo surgery in February to repair the injury. He has not received full clearance to train at this point but hopes to be cleared in a few days.
Footballguys view: Johnson did a fantastic job as a rookie in 2019. His production was even more impressive considering he wasn't playing with QB Ben Roethlisberger past Week 2. Roethlisberger is back and that should boost the entire passing game, including Johnson as the no.2 receiver opposite of JuJu Smith-Schuster.
    Link to story
    Diontae Johnson player page

    Colts | Parris Campbell healthy
Indianapolis Colts WR Parris Campbell said he has been running routes at full speed for the last two months and has recovered from all of the injuries he dealt with during the 2019 season.
Footballguys view: Campbell had to deal with hand and foot injuries last year as a rookie and it limited his production. He played in only seven games as a result of those injuries. Healthy now, we're interested to see how quickly he can build chemistry with new starting QB Philip Rivers. Campbell has the burst and speed to make big plays anytime he touches the ball.

Packers | Aaron Jones wants to stay with Packers
Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones said he wants to spend his entire career with the Packers. Jones' agent said the two sides have talked about a new contract and will continue to negotiate.
Footballguys view: A fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft, Jones is in the final year of his rookie contract. He's got a cap hit around $2.2 million in 2020. A new deal would likely make him one of the highest-paid running backs in the league. The Packers selected Boston College RB A.J. Dillon in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft and he's a big-bodied banger but not the all-purpose threat that Jones is.

Jets | Quincy Enunwa hopes to play again
New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (neck) said he hopes to play in the NFL again, but it will be up to the doctors to decide if he will be cleared to play.

Jets | Le'Veon Bell looking forward to new OL
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell said he is looking forward to playing behind the team's offensive line this upcoming season after they added several new linemen during the offseason, according to ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.
Footballguys view: Bell should have better blocking in 2020 with the revamped offensive line. That should help him be more productive as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. Reports indicate the Jets could reduce his workload slightly to keep him fresh. That means Fantasy GMs should concider Bell a low-end RB2 with upside. His current ADP is RB20 (3.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Raiders | Derek Carr working out with teammates
Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr has been working out with some of his teammates at a Las Vegas Park, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Rochelle Richards. WR Zay Jones, WR Hunter Renfrow and TE Darren Waller are among the players working out with Carr.
Footballguys view: Carr will have to compete for the starting job in training camp. The Raiders went out and added Marcus Mariota in free agency to compete for the top spot on the depth chart. Carr has chemistry with receivers who were on the team last year like the ones he's working out with, and that should give him an edge in the competition.

Because they are the source i get them from, their strength is organizing all the news items all on one page. In my opinion, they are the very best source for fantasy football, and they are not breaking any laws because they do give credits to original sources. other that their own "Footballguys views" of course, which are also very informative.

Hell, even the blurbs themselves cite the original sources even without needing to click the links, unless you want greater details. No laws are being broken here, as Marshawn used to say, "I'm just here 'cause I don't want to get fined."

I think most people will see "Courtesy of football****" at the top, "Source: football****" at the bottom and believe the articles in between are from that site. If another site was using SBR articles in that manner I think SBR would be pissed. None of my business I guess. I don't owe any of the organisations anything.

Well there is a lot to be said for organizing all the info in a usable manner, I would think it would be worse if I did NOT give them credit, because then it would look like I gathered all the info myself. So I opt to play it safe since FG did all the heavy lifting.

And no they are not affiliated with or paying SBR, it is all me as I am a longtime satisfied customer.

Actually, the blurb synopses of each story ARE written by footballguys, so that in itself makes crediting them fine. They never take credit for the stories and credit and link the sources, but the stories displayed here mirror how they are displayed on the FG News page. So I see no need to change my presentation.

True but I do not post any of their proprietary stuff you need to pay for (i.e., rankings, stat projections).

    Friday Update

Jets | Le'Veon Bell's hands as good as ever
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell posted a catch rate of 84.6 percent in 2019 - the third-best mark by a running back with at least 50 targets last season.

Buccaneers | Mike Evans amasses gaudy air yard numbers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans has posted three of the top six totals in regards to intended air yards over the last five seasons among running backs, wide receivers and tight ends. Evans finished with a career-high 2,572 intended air yards in 2016 (the second-best mark by any player since 2015), 2,188 yards in 2015 (fifth) and 2,187 in 2016 (sixth). Evans' 1,779 intended air yards in 2019 was his lowest total over that span.

Falcons | Julio Jones tops in intended air yards
Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones led all running backs, wide receivers and tight ends with 1,912 intended air yards in 2019.

Dolphins | Gary Jennings receives high praise
Miami Dolphins WR Gary Jennings 'put on a clinic' during a recent seven-on-seven exercise, according to trainer Pete Bommarito.'His routes were outstanding. We're talking about two straight hours going against some of the top defensive backs in this league. He was a 4.3 guy (at West Virginia) and is still a 4.3 guy. I had All-Pro cornerbacks on those fields (last Friday), and they said he's the real deal. All he needs is a shot. He has all the skills to be big time,' Bommarito said.

Saints | Michael Thomas ridiculously good on slants
New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has been targeted 118 times on slant routes over the course of his four-year career and caught 97 of them for 988 yards - good for a success rate of 85 percent.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson quicker than ever?
Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson is one of several Dolphins players working out with longtime trainer Pete Bommarito this offseason, and Bommarito says it has been Wilson's best. 'Wait until you see him run,' Bommarito said. 'This is the fastest I have seen him. Not only does he have that bad-ass shifty side and quick feet, but you look at his second gear and he looks spectacular. You will see the second gear this year.'

Jaguars | Gardner Minshew familiar with Laviska Shenault Jr.
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew is familiar with the talents of rookie WR Laviska Shenault Jr. and what he can do for an offense from their time playing against each other in college. 'Every time he touched the ball you just got nervous because you know he could break it,' Minshew said.

Eagles | No offer yet for LeSean McCoy
Free-agent RB LeSean McCoy (Chiefs) hasn't yet received an offer from the Philadelphia Eagles, despite interest from the team in bringing him back.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson to improve deep passing?
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson can improve on his MVP 2019 campaign by taking advantage of defenses stacking the box, according to head coach John Harbaugh Thursday, May 28. 'Those corners are going to be one-on-one and those safeties are going to be one-on-one against receivers, especially on some downfield throws, and we got to make them pay for it. We absolutely have to make them pay,' Harbaugh said. 'The ability to make them pay for tilting their defense toward stopping our run game with a really, really efficient passing game. I do believe that's the next step of this offense. I really do believe Lamar is going to take the next step.'

NFL | Devonta Freeman weighing two offers
Free-agent RB Devonta Freeman (Falcons) is weighing contract offers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles, according to sources.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson best in league at big runs
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson's 47 runs of 10-plus yards in the 2019 regular season were more than any other player - running back or quarterback, according to Pro Football Focus.
Footballguys view: Jackson is the most dangerous runner in the league, regardless of position. He's improving as a passer but is still going to be a threat with the rock in his hands and his mind on gashing defenses with his legs. Expect him to lead the league in this category again in 2020.

Ravens | Justice Hill to still have a role
Baltimore Ravens RB Justice Hill is expected to take a big jump in his second year in the NFL, according to head coach John Harbaugh Thursday, May 28. 'Is that really a problem to have four guys breaking off big runs and making guys miss? There's roles there for those guys,' Harbaugh said.
Footballguys view: Harbaugh says that he envisions a role for all four running backs on the roster. That could be a large headache for Fantasy GMs on a weekly basis. At the end of the day, Hill is going to be the no.4 back and have the smallest role in 2020.

Cardinals | DeAndre Hopkins expects numbers to go up
Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins said Thursday, May 28, he expects his numbers to improve in the Cardinals' pass-happy offense. 'So myself, being a receiver, of course I see my stats going up. ... But I definitely see myself having one of my more productive seasons,' Hopkins said.
Footballguys view: We project him for around the same numbers he posted in 2019. Hopkins had 104 catches for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns last year and those numbers sound about right for 2020 with his new team. He did have over 1,500 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns in 2018, so we have a good in between projection if you think he'll improve on his 2019 numbers. Either way, he's a superstar and a no-brainer starter every week.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde officially signs with SEA
Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Carlos Hyde (Texans) officially signed with the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, May 28. Official terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: We've known about this deal for some time and today it became official. Hyde had 1,000 yards rushing for the Texans last year but failed to get much interest in free agency. Seattle needed to sign him as a backup to Chris Carson since Rashaad Penny is likely to be on the PUP list to begin the regular season. Hyde (shoulder) played much of the 2019 season with a torn labrum and underwent surgery in February.

Raiders | Nick O'Leary on NFI list
Las Vegas Raiders TE Nick O'Leary (undisclosed) was placed on the Non-Football Injury list Thursday, May 28.
Footballguys view: This means O'Leary is done for the season, likely due to an injury he suffered working out on his own. O'Leary signed with the team just a couple of months ago for veteran depth. The Raiders move forward with Darren Waller, Jason Witten and Foster Moreau in the tight end room.

Raiders | Paul Butler returns to Vegas
Free-agent TE Paul Butler (Raiders) re-signed with the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday, May 28. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: This is the sixth time the Raiders have signed Butler over the last three years. He replaces Nick O'Leary on the roster as O'Leary was placed on the NFI list and is done for the season. He'll compete with Derek Carrier for the no.4 spot in the tight end room.

Eagles | Greg Ward may be slot receiver
Philadelphia Eagles WR Greg Ward Jr. likely will have a good chance to win the slot receiver job if the rookie receivers need time to develop, in the opinion of The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane.
Footballguys view: Undrafted out of Houston a couple of years ago, Ward bounced from the Eagles to the AAF then back to the Eagles during that time. Ward was thrust into action last year due to injuries at the WR position. He ended up catching 28 passes for 254 yards and one touchdown.

Chiefs | K.C. begins negotiation with Patrick Mahomes
The Kansas City Chiefs and QB Patrick Mahomes have begun contract negotiation on an extended deal. The new contract could be unlike any other before in the NFL, according to Sam Mellinger, of the Kansas City Star.
Footballguys view: Mahomes is going to be the highest-paid player in the NFL when this deal is done. It will be the richest contract rewarded in NFL history and it may be some time before any other player reaches the numbers Mahomes will be getting. The Chiefs are Super Bowl contenders so long as Mahomes is their quarterback and he's not going anywhere for several years to come.

Jaguars | Collin Johnson a huge target
Jacksonville Jaguars fifth-round pick WR Collin Johnson is a 6-foot-6, 222-pound target that thrived in the red zone. '(The Jaguars) mentioned mismatching my height with stuff and things like that, but obviously you can't teach height,' Johnson said. 'You know I'm thankful to be as tall as I am, but also I feel like a part of my game that I'm really good at is my route running, so I feel like I have more than just being a tall receiver,' Johnson said.
Footballguys view: Johnson is a big-bodied receiver who knows how to use his frame to box out smaller defenders. He knows how to manipulate defenders based on the coverage look and Johnson has great 'my ball' mentality when the pass is coming in. Johnson missed six games as a senior due to a hamstring injury and he doesn't get a ton of separation in his routes. We like monitoring him in dynasty formats.
