Dodgers haven't been to the WS series since 1988.
Marlins have won a WS after the Dodgers have been to the WS, so did Oakland, and the Angels, and the White Sox, and the Twins, and my beloved Royals.
Throw out Chicago, the other five are small market teams (Anaheim is a small market) and most on that list are usually second tier pretenders that are not expected to win a WS, Dodgers have all that money, all the resources to at least a playoff appearance in the last 30 years.
