DEN - CB Aqib Talib treated for gunshot wound Source: USA TODAY Sports
Denver Broncos CB Aqib Talib (leg) has been released from a Dallas hospital Sunday, June 5, after he was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg. Broncos vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth said Talib is doing OK.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We're glad he's okay, and we're glad this wasn't much worse. We're guessing Talib went Plaxico Burress and shot himself in the leg on accident. We'll know more about this in the near future.

NYJ - Coach wants more from Bryce Petty
Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini
New York Jets QB Bryce Petty has improved from a mental standpoint but has to perform better on the field during training camp, according to head coach Todd Bowles.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Playing Madden does not make you better at actually playing football. Petty was a project when he came out of Baylor last year, and we don't have a lot of love for him...even in super deep dynasty leagues.

NYJ - Christian Hackenberg struggling at times
Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini
New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg has had problems during offseason workouts with his passes fluttering and throwing the ball too high when he misses a receiver. Head coach Todd Bowles said he expects Hackenberg to perform better during training camp.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Jets shouldn't be surprised by this. Hackenberg had two disappointing seasons in a row at Penn State. Some may have blamed the offense or the coaching staff, but at the end of the day it was Hackenberg who struggled to perform well. He's a prototypical pocket passer, but we're not excited about his upside. The rookie may be painted as some sort of future franchise QB, but we just don't see it. He's got a lot of room for improvement.

CHI - RB Jeremy Langford looking to round out game
Source: Chicago Tribune - Rich Campbell
Chicago Bears RB Jeremy Langford is hoping to improve on third downs, sharpen his skills in the passing game and improving his yards after contact (1.13), which was easily the worst mark among qualified running backs last season. Langford has been working with his coaches to widen his feet on contact in an effort to improve his balance and power.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
There are two backs behind Langford to monitor on the Bears roster. Ka'Deem Carey should be splitting time with Langford this year, but it's rookie Jordan Howard who might be the best of the bunch. There are some in the scouting community who felt that Howard was the most natural RB in this draft class not named Ezekiel Elliot. The Bears picked up Howard as a value pick in the fifth round. He's a big back who rushed for 145 yards or more in every full game he played in. Howard can make his living between the tackles, and his bruising style should lead to better numbers after contact than Langford or Carey.

DAL - QB Tony Romo staying optimistic
Source: DallasCowboys.com - David Helman
Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (collarbone) believes last year's broken collarbone will turn out to be an anomaly. Romo is focused on the team performing better. He believes part of that is him being healthy and teammates improving.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's the power of positive thinking, right? What you think about you bring about, but this is Tony Romo. There may not be anything such as injury prone, but if it was in the dictionary there would be a picture of Romo alongside it. We're glad he's staying positive...now, he just needs to stay healthy the Cowboys can make a playoff run in 2016.

MIA - Not interested in free agents
Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson
Free-agent CBs Leon Hall (Bengals) and Antonio Cromartie (Jets) are not being pursued by the Miami Dolphins at this time. They are both on the back burner, however, if Miami should suffer injuries or be disappointed with their young players at the position.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Dolphins want to see how Byron Maxwell and Xavien Howard do before adding veterans like Hall or Cromartie. Maxwell comes over to Miami after a horrible season with the Eagles. Howard was the team's second-round pick out of Baylor. If either struggles to impress, then perhaps we'll see the team consider other options.

JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon in better shape
Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran
Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon has improved his physique after spending the offseason training with Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran. Yeldon said he's at 225 pounds, but he wants to lose five more pounds before training camp.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's good news when an Alabama RB wants to take care of physique before it becomes a problem (see Eddie Lacy, Trent Richardson). Yeldon flashed as a rookie but only played in 12 games as he was slowed by a sprained MCL. The team added free agent Chris Ivory this year to utilize in a RBBC with Yeldon. At this time, fantasy owners are taking Ivory at RB32 (7.08) and Yeldon at RB34 (8.01) in 12-team PPR leagues.

WAS - Josh Doctson taking it easy
Source: RealRedskins.com - Rich Tandler
Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (foot) is taking it slow with his foot injury. Washington wants Doctson to watch now and not risk having him watch next month because of a setback or aggravation. The injury is not serious, however.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The team added Doctson in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft. Coming out of TCU as a true No.1 wide receiver, it will be interesting to see how he fits in Washington with Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson above him on the depth chart. Doctson could be the team's WR3 while he gets up to speed at the pro level.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota can still improve
Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon
Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota is expected to improve his pocket awareness in 2016. Mariota was sacked 38 times in his rookie season -- the most of any quarterback who played in 12 or fewer games. 'I've really emphasized getting rid of the ball instead of taking sacks,' head coach Mike Mularkey said. Mariota has been told an incompletion is OK, and to throw the ball away and move on to the next down. Mariota's knowledge of the offense is also expected to be improved. Mularkey has streamlined the offense for more simplicity.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Of course he can improve, as Mariota is going into his second season in the NFL. He needs to stay healthy and continue to develop as a passer. Everyone knows he can scramble and throw on the run, and now he'll have to improve his decision-making skill within the pocket. We have confidence in the young passer, but know that the Titans are going to use their "exotic smashmouth" ground attack featuring DeMarco Murray and rookie Derrick Henry. The run-heavy nature of the offense could keep Mariota's fantasy potential around a low-end QB2.

NFL - Multiple teams interested in RB Joique Bell
Source: Detroit Free Press - Lev Facher
Free-agent RB Joique Bell (Lions) said he has received contract offers from three NFL teams this offseason and believes at least two of those proposals are still on the table.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bell's 3.5 YPC from 2015 isn't going to fire teams up. His injury history won't either, so we're not seeing the interest here. Perhaps Bell could latch on with a team as veteran depth, but his fantasy value would likely be close to none.
