#37Sunday Update:
CAR - TE Greg Olsen facing tough matchup
Source: ESPN.com - Josh Weinfuss
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen faces the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 24, and LB Deone Bucannon allowed eight catches for 105 yards and no touchdowns against the top seven tight ends this season.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Cardinals are going to do whatever they can to slow down Olsen. This is likely to hamper what QB Cam Newton does through the air. We'll see if the Panthers can find creative ways to get Olsen open.

PHI - More production from TE Zach Ertz?
Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com - Dave Spadaro
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz posted 75 receptions in 2015, but he had six games with three receptions or fewer in 15 games played. Ertz hasn't been featured as much in the passing game in recent seasons, but head coach Doug Pederson maximized the talents of Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce in their time together, now Ertz is likely to be in the game plan more going forward.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ertz can be a dangerous weapon, but he doesn't score that many touchdowns. A lack of touchdown catches limits his fantasy value. Keep this Pederson/Kelce connection in mind when considering a tight end next year. Ertz finished 2015 as TE10, but he could finish 2016 as an even better fantasy player.

PHI - RB DeMarco Murray, RB Ryan Mathews to get FB
Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com - Dave Spadaro
Philadelphia Eagles RBs DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews are expected to have company in the backfield in 2016, as head coach Doug Pederson has liked to have a fullback on the roster and use him to block in the running game.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Eagles will likely use some form of RBBC between the two. Murray could be the lead back, but Mathews is a proven player and deserves time as well. This will be an interesting fantasy situation to navigate before next year's fantasy drafts.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles might see more passes
Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com - Dave Spadaro
Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles might be featured more in the passing game under new head coach Doug Pederson.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sproles can be a factor in PPR leagues. He may get a larger opportunity with the change in coaching. With the right amount of catches, yards and touchdowns we could see Sproles break back into being a top-30 fantasy running back. He hasn't been in the top 30 since 2012 (no. 22) when he was with the Saints.

KC - Decision time on RB Jamaal Charles
Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was hurt and then the team went on average 135.9 yards - fifth in the league - in 11 regular season games with RBs Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware. He has a $2 million report-to-training camp bonus due in July, and he could be asked to take a pay cut and/or relinquish that bonus to return while earning it back through incentives.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Charles can still be a superstar in the NFL, and the Chiefs should use him as much as possible in 2016. However, both West and Ware looked great starting this year and they could be worked into the mix a bit this season.

KC - Transition tag for DT Jaye Howard?
Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor
Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent DT Jaye Howard might be slapped with the transition tag, former agent and salary-cap expert Joel Corry suggested Saturday, Jan. 23.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This is the smart move for the Chiefs. With the transition tag, Howard would cost $9.3 million in 2016.

DAL - QB Tony Romo will have scan
Source: DallasCowboys.com - David Helman
Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (shoulder) will have a CT scan this week to determine if he needs shoulder surgery. Romo did say that his shoulder and back feel good.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Surgery or no, Romo needs to do whatever he can to get back to full strength and then stay at full strength. With Romo in the lineup the Cowboys can go far. However, they need to have a better backup plan in place for if he gets banged up again. We think the Cowboys will consider adding a backup quarterback via free agency or a developmental quarterback through the NFL draft.

MIN - Sign Terrell Sinkfield
Source: Vikings.com
Free-agent WR Terrell Sinkfield (Giants) was signed to a Reserve/Futures deal by the Minnesota Vikings Saturday, Jan. 23.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sinkfield is super fast...like 4.2 40-yard dash fast. He's a Minnesota native who impressed during his time in the CFL. In super deep dynasty leagues, we're monitoring his NFL career.

NO - QB Drew Brees could sign extension
Source: ESPN.com - Mike Triplett
New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees could sign a multi-year extension this offseason and still save the Saints millions against their cap, according to ESPN.com's Mike Triplett.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Brees has a $30 million cap number in 2016, the final year of his current contract. We'd be shocked if he played with that number. Expect him to get an extension (and a lower cap hit) in the near future.

NE - OLB Jamie Collins expected to play
Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe
New England Patriots LB Jamie Collins (back) is expected to play in the AFC Championship despite being listed as questionable.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Good news for the Patriots here. Collins is supremely athletic and capable of rushing the passer or covering in space.

HOU - CB Kevin Johnson undergoes surgery
Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson
Houston Texans CB Kevin Johnson (foot, wrist) recently underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We liked what the rookie showed this season. Johnson is also expected to undergo surgery in two to three weeks to repair a broken wrist.

NE - LaAdrian Waddle, Tre Jackson out
Source: WEEI.com - Christopher Price
New England Patriots OT LaAdrian Waddle (shoulder) and OG Tre Jackson (knee) have been ruled out for the AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos Sunday, Jan. 24.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Great, just what the Patriots needed....offensive line troubles as they're set to face off against a ferocious Broncos defense.

NYJ - RB Ray Rice not on radar of NYJ
Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini
Free-agent RB Ray Rice is not on the New York Jets' radar, according to general manager Mike Maccagnan, but he admitted that discussions about Rice have taken place internally.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Anything can happen, but we just don't see Rice playing in the NFL again. We'll see if a team wants to add him later this offseason.

KC - RB Jamaal Charles ahead of schedule?
Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) may be ahead of schedule as he rehabs from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to general manager John Dorsey.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That would be great news for the Chiefs, Charles and fantasy owners. He'll return as their lead back, but with Spencer Ware playing so well we could see Ware with playing time behind Charles as their power change-of-pace back. Charcandrick West did a fine job as the starter, and he may also get a bit of action when Charles needs a breather.

PHI - Philadelphia want to lock up TE Zach Ertz
Source: NJ.com - Eliot Shorr-Parks
Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz is one of the players the team wants to sign to a long-term deal, according to a source.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ertz is under contract through 2016, and he has a $1.7 million cap number in the final year of his deal. Last season, Ertz posted a career-best 853 receiving yards. However, he was only able to snare two touchdowns. In order to be a more effective fantasy tight end (he was 10th-best in 2015), Ertz needs to become a bigger presence in the red zone.
