best time is the week before the season...that way you have a pretty good feel on what the teams/starters are.

ESPN does blind bidding for waivers.

We usually shoot for the Sunday night before the Thursday games. Can sometimes fall on Labor Day weekend which can pose problems for some people, but that's always our first choice.
