PHI - RB Darren Sproles out 1-2 weeks
Source: NFL.com
Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (knee) could miss one to two weeks because of his sprained medial collateral ligament, according to head coach Chip Kelly.

A bit of good news here concerning Sproles. Kelly said Sproles will receive treatment, and the team will reevaluate him after the bye week.

DET - WR Calvin Johnson could miss two more weeks
Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) could miss the next two weeks after sitting out in Week 6, according to head coach Jim Caldwell. The team has a bye in Week 9. 'I do not hold a medical degree. It may appear I do from time to time to you maybe, but I don't,' Caldwell said. 'The fact of the matter is I leave it up to the doctors. Those are the professionals. They know exactly what it takes. Johnson suffered a high right ankle sprain in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers, and he's missed nine of the last 11 full practices.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Whatever it takes for Johnson to feel better. He needs rest in order to get closer to 100 percent, and the Lions (and Matthew Stafford owners) need to monitor his progress closely.

NYG - Odell Beckham could play the slot
Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Dan Graziano
New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. could move to the slot with WR Victor Cruz (knee) out for the season, but Beckham has never played the position. WR Preston Parker filled in in the slot in Week 6 when Cruz was injured, and he can play on the outside, too. WR Corey Washington has worked exclusively on the outside and could see some more opportunities in the offense with Cruz out.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Giants have some options here. We think Beckham is best suited to play on the outside where his speed can take the top off the defense. Parker might be the best fit at slot now that Cruz is out for the year.

WAS - Robert Griffin returning to practice
Source: CSNWashington.com - Rich Tandler
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) will start participating in individual drills during practice this week, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Griffin may be able to participate in full practices next week.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Kirk Cousins clock is ticking. Griffin is close to returning to the starting job. Cousins has moxie, but he makes a lot of mistakes and he's not a consistent starter the team can rely on. It's almost time to scoop up Griffin on the waiver wire if he's out there in your league.

MIN - Jerick McKinnon a lone bright spot
Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Master Tesfatsion
Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon received his first start of his career in the team's Week 6 loss to the Detroit Lions. He had 11 carries for 40 yards and also a team-high six catches for 42 yards, as he was the lone bright spot of the offense. RB Matt Asiata had only two carries for negative five yards and one catch for 18 yards in the game. It was the first time Asiata didn't have double-digit carries since RB Adrian Peterson has been out.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
There is a changing of the guard in Minnesota that fantasy owners need to recognize. McKinnon is the more explosive player, and he's a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. Adjust your projections and expectations accordingly for both McKinnon and Asiata.

CIN - WR Marvin Jones not progressing

Cincinnati Bengals WR Marvin Jones (ankle) is not seeing any progress from his injury, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bad news for the Bengals here. Jones could have been back already, but he suffered a setback in his recovery. Mohamed Sanu will continue as the lead receiver for the team while Jones and A.J. Green (toe) miss time.

NE - James White could become roster fixture
Source: ESPNBoston.com - Gordon Edes
New England Patriots RB James White could become a regular on the 46-man game day roster with the season-ending injury to RB Stevan Ridley (knee). White was active only once this year in Week 4. He's also not a similar back to Ridley at 5-foot-10, 205 pounds.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We're excited about the upside and potential of White. He's an efficient runner who wastes little motion to get north and south in a hurry. White is a smaller back, but he's determined between the tackles. He is also a fine receiver out of the backfield. We'll see how he works in a backfield that is going to be without Ridley for the rest of the year.

NE - RB Brandon Bolden to be more involved?
Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss
New England Patriots RB Brandon Bolden was the fill-in for RB Stevan Ridley (knee) in Week 6 as the 'big back.' Bolden has been a core special teams player this year, and something will have to give if he's to start being more of a factor at running back with Ridley out for the year. RB Jonas Gray could be promoted from the practice squad.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Patriots need a large back to wear down opponents, and that's where Bolden comes in. We'll see more touches for Bolden, Vereen and maybe even rookie James White now that Ridley is done for the season.

NYJ - RB Chris Johnson a full participant
Source: NewYorkJets.com
New York Jets RB Chris Johnson (ankle) was a full participant Monday, Oct. 13. The team did not practice Monday, but was required to provide the status of injured players if they had practiced.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Awesome--we still don't want you starting him on Thursday night against the Patriots.

NYJ - TE Jace Amaro limited
Source: NFL
New York Jets TE Jace Amaro (knee) was limited Monday, Oct. 13. The team did not practice Monday, but was required to provide the status of injured players if they had practiced.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
So much for the NFL's 'virtual reality' practice report. Amaro was solid against the Broncos in Week 6. We're not as optimistic he can keep up that production level against the Patriots on Thursday night.

NYJ - WR Eric Decker limited Monday
Source: NFL
New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was limited Monday, Oct. 13. The team did not practice Monday, but was required to provide the status of injured players if they had practiced.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Decker scored a late touchdown in his 'revenge' game against the Broncos last week. We'll see if he can actually practice before the Thursday night game against the Patriots.

TEN - QB Jake Locker still having issues
Source: The Tennessean - Jim Wyatt
Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (thumb) is still having problems with his bruised thumb and will need to make progress during the week if he wants a chance to play in Week 7, according to head coach Ken Whisenhunt.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Charlie Whitehurst hasn't been a trainwreck at quarterback for the Titans. If Locker can't get better, we'll see Whitehurst under center in Week 7 as Tennessee takes on Washington.

NE - QB Tom Brady limited

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) was limited Monday, Oct. 13. The team did not practice Monday, but was required to provide the status of injured players if they had practiced.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
In the 'Imagination Land' practice report, Brady would have been limited. He should be good to go--in real life--against the Jets on Thursday Night Football in Week 7.

SEA - RB Marshawn Lynch limited in Week 6
Source: The Seattle Times - Larry Stone
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch had only two carries in the first half of the Week 6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and he finished with only 10 carries for 61 yards. Head coach Pete Carroll said Lynch's inactivity in the game was because the team couldn't sustain drives against the Cowboys and keep them off the field.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Cowboys used what we call the 'BkofAma Constrictor' approach on offense. They moved the rock consistently and dominated the time of possession. Seattle didn't have time to do much against a stifling Cowboys defense.

NYJ - QB Geno Smith will start Week 7
Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Jane McManusp
New York Jets QB Geno Smith will start Thursday, Oct. 16, against the New England Patriots, according to head coach Rex Ryan.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Nobody can say that Geno Smith is not tough. The Jets OL was helpless to stop Von Miller and the Broncos pass-rushers on Sunday. He was under constant duress and performed poorly because of it. We'll see if the Jets can protect him better in Week 7.
