Asik To Pelicans Trade Could be Off
Well technically it never happened since it wasn't supposed to become official until after July 10th, although it was a done deal contingent on an expected salary cap. However the actual salary cap came in at $135,000 less than was expected, and New Orleans currently does not have enough cap room to absorb Asik salary.

    Stay Tuned.

Unrelated in the sense that it is the Pelicans that lack cap room to pay Asik due to misjudging what new cap would be.

But related in the sense that if Rockets must keep Asik, it makes the decision to match Parsons harder unless they have a Plan B to unload Asik salary somewhere else.

The Rockets are getting screwed from every direction between all this and the Bosh snub.
