Good question, Arch. If memory serves me right, he has a guaranteed contract through the 2016 season?

I still feel that he can be a legit superstar. I agree with you that Snider has cemented himself into the outfield picture.

I was down on Snider back in the spring but he's definitely made me a fan. What an awesome year he's having!

The club offered him a chance to pitch again this season, but Hughes declined. Hughes needs one more out to trigger a $500,000 roster bonus, but has decided to end his season. He posted a 3.52 ERA over 209 2/3 innings.

What is up with this ? are they giving him the 500k anyway ? or is the guy a total moron ?

If $500K doesn't mean anything to him, he could have recorded an out and then donated the money to a charity.

Haha! I noticed that too, Arch. He did pinch-hit in the 8th today but he had the title wrapped up already.
