i am not playing the under, but one could argue for the under due to both teams having solid D. Both teams esp have very strong pass D. so we should prob expect to see a lot of running on both sides. also Tomey is pretty conservative. he does not go for it on 4th n short often. he goes by the motto "reserve the right to punt". he plays the field position game, and wins games with solid D and a good kicking game

Boise St. averages 32.5 points per game while giving up 10.5
San Jose St. averages 21.6 while giving up 16.6.

It's always tough to cap totals from pf/pa, but that's usually what vegas uses to set the totals.

I have it capped close to the total. 43. So I guess it could go either way. But I would lean to the OVER.

              San Jose State 20

That is exactly how they come up with totals while using a ton of other factors, like weather, turf or natural, night vs. day, etc. etc.

That number is thrown out there and they watch it closely early. They keep adjusting it until they get (try to) 50/50 on both sides.

My uncle ran the book at the Las Vegas Hilton back in the late sixties till the late seventies. Back then it was basically the Hilton and the Stardust that set every line in the world.

He told me that if they didn't have a good feel for a starting line or total, they would just post anything, put like a 5 grand cap on it for a few hours, then adjust it to where they felt they would get the 50/50 split. The cap would come off and they were golden.

The big difference today is that vegas doesn't set the lines anymore. More money is bet via the internet, so vegas uses a third party specialist and watches the early lines from several of the big online books to come up with their starting lines.
