Thoughts for a possible betting theory

No idea if this is something that would work, and no idea how to even keep stats for it....But I'm thinking that when a team is being pumped up in the media big time a certain week (like Alabama last week) They are a team to fade for the next week. The reason being that the common "Joe Shmoe" will hear all the talk about that team all week long, and bet em regardless of the line. And Vegas knows this so they set the line higher than it should be

A pick that would qualify this week is Ball St. I'm on Western KY +the points anyways, for other reasons, and I think they may win straight up, but This is a game that would qualify.....

You are on to something here, I actually consider exactly what you have just said in almost all of my plays. I had Kentucky last week, even though they were very hard to take and even harder to watch.

Another past example would include Houston Vs. East Carolina.

Western Kentucky straight up? really? Your theory sounds like somewhat a spin off from the ole letdown game. I think it's a worthy thought. You could possibly put the Missouri game this week into it too.
