Oklahoma takes over the top spot but where do SC. Georgia and Florida end up? Georgia played a much tougher team but lost at home. SC just plain stunk up the joint on the road. What's the new Top 5 look like? My guess is:

    Oklahoma
    LSU
    Missouri
    Alabama
    Texas

you'd have to ask Dagger, he could tell you
but i'm going on a limb saying he still has USC in the top 5

Even being a SEC homer I would have to drop USC/Florida/UGA out of the top 5 maybe out of the top 10.
Bama should be in the mix along with LSU
    1 oklahoma
    2 texas
    3 bama
    4LSU
    5 Mizzou

We should not worry about these things, we are gamblers. We should be focused on the betting lines. Let fans and journalists talk about such trivial matters. Your only concern as a gambler should be the point spreads, not the rankings of individual teams.

And LSU wont have to jump because #1 lost, #3 lost and #4 lost! They will just fall in place.

But Alabama has more quality wins than LSU...

34-24 over a Miss St. team that could muster only 2 points against Auburn.... does that sound like the #2 team in the country to you?

All the pollsters love the teams that beat up on nobody.

                            Oklahoma

                            Alabama
                            LSU

                            Done.

I actually think USC should be penalized more than the other two schools. The SEC is the strongest conference in the country and any team is capable of beating any other team on a certain day, and either Alabama or Mississippi would beat Oregon State at least 80% of the time on a neutral field (Maybe Alabama 90%, Mississippi 70%).

The top 5's already posted here look good for next week. Polls this early in the season are pretty much meaningless anyway.

Why not put Vanderbilt & Northwestern in there?<joking> Those two would really celebrate the high rankings, no matter how brief their stay. You could save the real contenders and put them in there later in the season when the polls have more importance.
