If Wells doesnt go this week, Tress needs to spread the field against the men of troy. Incorporate T.P., Open up the field with hartline, robo, and posey. Boeckman needs to be a leader this week. He looked rattled last week at home against Ohio. I support him, but without the threat of Wells in the backfield, all the attention is on the QB... and anyone who has watched OSU football in the past two years knows that making Boeckman beat you with his arm is the key to coming away with a win when youre playing the Buckeyes. I think that the bucks D will do a good job of holding off the throws of Sanchez. Virginias secondary was utterly anemic, as was their pass rush. The bucks will do a much better job containing the USC O. The key will be the OSU offense vs the USC D. The bucks OL needs to come to play. Despite the low numbers this week, the bucks RB backups have talent, and just needed more space to move against OU.
The bucks OL and QB play will determine the outcome of this game.

OSU covers and maybe wins.
USC is not Florida or LSU or the USC of years ago. They dont have the explosive weapons on offense.

killed in every bowl game? Yes, the last two national championship games. Let me remind you that osu won its 4 bowl games prior to those two games, three of which were BCS games, one of which being a national title game where they were (very similarly to this week) huge underdogs. And as for getting killed in every big game ... again, yes the last two national championship games, but in 2006 they beat both (at the time) #5 Texas and #2 Michigan en route to the national championship game.

Oh yeah, Joe McKnight isn't explosive at all.
I will say this for Buckeye fans....they must love Charlie Brown.
No matter how many times Lucy pulls that friggin ball away, Charlie still thinks he is going to get a chance to kick it.
Same with Ohio State fans.
No matter how many times they are going up against athletic teams...Florida, LSU, and now USC, they still have themselves convinced they can hang.
Oh well.

No one loves the national stage more and game plans better with some time than Pete Carroll. Sure, SC slips up once a year but those are conference games against Arizona and Stanford. I have not seen a line but I would say USC by 3 touchdowns. OSU looked like garbage for 3 quarters Saturday.
As for talent, Gable and McKnight are the real deal. Sanchez and the receivers will do their jobs too, like the SC QB and receivers always do.
I am not a USC honk but an observer.....

I didnt say that McNight wasnt a good football player. He is. He will no doubt be in the pros after next season. (He apparently knows it too, judging by the messages he writes in his eye black)

Martin,
I was more poking fun at McKnights clear love of the game of football. Any player who paints "I Need Money" in his eye black is clearly showing a lack of character. I would be embarassed to root for that kind of player. I would rather have a "banged up beanie wells" LEADING my team than 4 backs who are in it for a draft spot.
McKnight has also failed to correct his bad case of fumbleitis that plagued him through his frosh season. Coughed up the ball on one of his punt returns against UVA. Explosive, yes, but he also carries the ball like a loaf of bread.

I'm amazed USC is giving Ohio State less than two TD's in this one. I'm on it.
Ohio State looked terrible against Ohio. Ohio State has not lost to an in-state opponent since 1921 (pretty cool stat), but they almost managed it this year. Behind after 3 quarters, they had to valiantly battle for a tough win in the 4th quarter. Against Ohio??? And Wells injured in the process. Ouch.
USC, on the other hand, has had purely easy sailing, looking just like the top rung team they are. They are coming off a two week rest, following what was really just a hard practice on the road (at an especially lovely campus, by the way) against Virginia. USC played lots of backups in that game -- giving some serious playing time to some key backups. It was not a contest. And it was exactly what USC's coaches were looking for. Now, USC is coming home to open in front of their fans in a game with a perennial powerhouse. The studs can't wait to play a full game against a real opponent. Jezuuuuz. Ohio State is going to be red meat.
I don't know about explosive, but McNight and Gable will probably both average more than 7 yards per carry against Ohio State. I don't care a lick about their fashion decisions. That kind of running game is all the explosive I need.
Sorry Buckeye fans, but I don't think this one's close.
And, by the way, I don't even like USC much at all.

buckeyes,
I am going to be enjoying the USC/Ohio State game as purely a fan of college football. I will not wager on it at all.
That being said, I would love to see tOSU crush USC, but I just don't see it happening. Tressel is a great coach, he will have the Bucks ready to play, but I just don't think it will be enough.

I wish I could have gotten -8. It's my own fault for not being around when the line opened. Now I am most likely passing at 10.5, although I do think USC still covers.

Oh and don't belive the Game of the Year media hype here either, as USC should win buy double-digits. They will be more intriguing matchups than this later in the year.

I am a loyal Buckeye fan and hope the best for them at all times. With that being said I am also a realist. This team seems to be worse than last year's team that was beat down by LSU in the National Championship game. From what I seen on Saturday against Ohio U they may be the third or fourth best team the Big Eleven has to offer. They were outplayed on the line of scrimmage by a mid level Mac team. Maybe they were overlooking Ohio U but that was no excuse for what I saw last Saturday. Tressel is a good coach but Carroll is just as good or better. The Buckeyes are in trouble Saturday night and the game may get ugly really quick.
Every one of the USC Defensive starters should be a NFL draft pick when they leave USC... Thats just not fair. With that said I took USC to cover

I am going to see what this line does, not going to play either side where it is at now, but if it goes higher, I will probably make a small play on the buckeyes.

Im not sure u realize that michigan is always as overrated as Ohio State. Just like two years ago when they said the ohio st/michigan game was the "real" national champ game. Both teams are always overhyped as shit. You saw after that game when Ohio state won, then florida ****in annihilated them. Just like USC is gonna do saturday. Ohio State doesn't have a prayer. This USC team has more team speed than lsu and florida from the last 2 national champ games where OSU got killed. Sorry, but I'd take USC -13.5 even. If not more. My prediction is 34-10 USC. wurd.

I love what Coach Tressel is doing, hes listing Beenie Wells as "doubtful" and said Beenie still has pain and did not practice with the team Thursday morning. No doubt Beenie is still hurting but we all know hes going to play and that will give a big emotional boost to his Buckeye team that thought they were playing without him. (some Vegas books are pulling the line down)
