Machine Reports: 2-2
Florida this year has only seen one defense that is as good as LSU's: Alabama. The result: 6 points. LSU has the #4 defense (points scored) and that will be the difference in this game. There is no Tim Tebow to bail out Urban Meyer this year against these monsters. UF has not looked the same since Meyer's retirement/leave/reinstatement due to heart problems, and now Brantley is somewhat banged up, as well as Demps. If either of those guys go down today, game over.
Meanwhile, LSU has been ridiculed even though they are undefeated. They will be playing with a chip on their shoulder in Gainesville. Also, expect to see alot of Jarrett Lee in place of Jefferson, since Lee was more effective against Tennessee. But don't discount Jefferson even though he had a bad game. He is one of the fastest players on the field.
Florida allowed Alabama to run wild on the ground, expect LSU to gouge them too, especially since LSU has the SEC's top rusher (Ridley). Undoubtedly UF is gut-punched after their first regular-season loss in 24 straight games. Their defense is ranked 26 in points scored. LSU hung 29 and 20 points on two defenses that are statistically better than UF (Miss St (#22) and West Virginia (#13)), which means that UF would have to score 27-35 points to cover this spread. I don't think so, not against LSU. LSU learned what they needed to last week, expect cleaner play and a tight game.
LSU +6.5
