Stanford –9.5
Up until last week the Cardinal had just been blowing away teams. Then they ran into that Oregon buzz saw. They moved the ball well on Oregon (518 yards total offense) but that fumble in the 3rd quarter that Oregon ran back for a TD change the momentum in the game. It was going to be a very difficult game for them to win as Oregon has only lost one home game in the last three years and that was in 2008 to a undefeated Boise State team. The Trojans on the other hand have hardly impressed me. They have had relatively close games with ordinary teams like Hawaii, Minnesota and Virginia. The one game where they played a team with some potential to make a decent bowl game Washington they lost at home. The Trojan pass defense has been absolutely horrendous this year; currently #116 in the nation and last week the run defense was bad as the Huskies rolled up 226 yards on the ground. This week they get to go on the road and play a team that can move the ball equally well on the ground or through the air. With the Cardinal coming of that 2nd half meltdown against Oregon they probably are a little pissed off and this could be a similar result to the game last year, which saw the Cardinal win 55-21.
