    Tennessee at LSU
    Tenn +9 1st half

I like tennessee +9 in the first half. LSU is a perfect 4-0 ats in the first half of games. Tennessee is also a perfect 4-0 ats in the first half. Tenn was an underdog in 2 of those games and covered.

Tenn played at home against Oregon and actually was tied at halftime to the ducks. Tenn played Florida very tough two weeks ago. Tenn was down only 7-3 at halftime of that game. I think tenn plays to the level of its competition. Tenn did not play well against UAB but won and did not cover the game spread. Perhaps Tenn was looking ahead and did not take UAB serisously.

LSU has the most inept offense of any top 25 team. LSU has to rely on its defense and special teams to score. Last week LSU scored 17 points in the first half mainly becasue of punt return and a west virginia fumble. LSU offense only managed 85 yards of total offense in the first half.

Tenn plays really hard in the first half of games and runs out of steam in the 2nd half of games. tenn has actually outscored last 3 opponents 39-27 (oregon, florida, UAB) in the first half. Tied with oregon 13-13, trailing florida 7-3 and beating uab 23-7 in the first half. Probably due to depth, Tenn runs out of steam in the 2nd half of games. Tenn was outsocred 35-0 by oregon, 24-14 by florida and 22-9 by UAB in the 2nd half.

I was 5-2 in first halves in college and the NFL.

    Packers -1 (w) 1st half
    Jets +1/2 (w) 1st half
    Seahawks +3 (W) 1st half
    W Virginia +5 (L) 1st half
    North Carolina -1/2 (L) 1st half
    Virginia Tech -2.5 (w) 1st half
    SMU +11 (w) 1st half

Both of my losses were real close. W Virgina fumbled at its own 10 yard line resulting in easy td and LSU had a punt return for a td. Both happened in the first half. North Carolina was driving late in the 2 quarter and they fumbled the football at Rutgers 20 yard. NC was down only 10-7.

I took the packers -1 1st half based on probability. Bears had covered the spread for 3 straight halfs. I was thinking that both teams will cover a half in this game. Since i won in the first half on the packers, I stayed away from the packers in the 2nd half. If the packers were down a td or more at halftime, I would take packers in the 2nd half. If the bears were up by a td last night, my second half play would have been taking the packers. Packers would be favored in a such a situation.
