Maryland was very fortunate they didn't get blown out in their only meaningful game this season. Keep in mind they have to go to Morgantown, to a team that had an extra day to prepare.

In a move that was expected and probably unavoidable, West Virginia coach Bill Stewart said Tuesday that senior cornerback Brandon Hogan would be suspended indefinitely and is out for Saturday's game against Maryland.

Hogan was arrested early Sunday morning on a DUI charge. That followed some earlier transgressions this spring, when Hogan was cited for disorderly conduct and public urination and was held out of much of spring practice for failing to take care of business in the classroom.

Stewart didn't rule out a Hogan return, saying the cornerback would return "when I deem fit."

His absence puts pressure on the West Virginia defense since he was their best cover guy and a solid tackler. Stewart said redshirt freshman Brodrick Jenkins, sophomore Pat Miller or senior Brantwon Bowser would replace Hogan in the lineup.

I wouldn't lay more than 10 -- This WVU team is suspect -- the QB is the real deal, but the offensive line is dreadful. Hopefully they pull it together soon. If they don't it will be a long, long, year.

This WVU team is more than suspect right now. From a completely neutral standpoint, they should not have beaten Marshall. This game will be closer than the spread.
