Got off to a nice start in week #1, winning 6 games and losing only 1. Gonna try to keep the profits coming with these plays.....
HAWAII +3 at ARMY
The Warriors are a staggering 6 time zones away from home in this contest. That translates to this noon start actually feeling like 6am to the islanders. Still (and this is why they call it gambling) I gotta side with this Hawaii team after the impressive offensive performance they displayed against USC. Army will be able to pick up plenty of yardage with their option attack, but the Warriors control the air and surf outta town with a victory.
MICHIGAN +4 at NOTRE DAME
The underdog has won this game 6 out of the last 8 times, and is 12-2 ATS over the last 14. Had to be impressed with Wolverine's QB Denard Robinson last week when he amassed 383 yds of total offense in that UConn game. This one's a war and I'll gladly take any points available, particularly when it's more than a FG.
BYU +1 at AIR FORCE
The Falcons are a good squad.....unless they're stepping up in class. They own all the lesser Mountain West teams but against the studs (BYU, TCU, Utah), Air Force has only won 2 of their last 17. That's a distressing pattern. The Cougars have beaten the Flyboys 6 in a row. And now their getting points? (Well, 'point' actually.) My money says that BYU gets it done thru the air and pulls out the 'W'.
(Double Play) OREGON -12 at TENNESSEE (Double Play)
The thing that was most impressive about Oregon's 72-0 dismantling of New Mexico last week was that they actually 'called off the dogs'. Now they face a Vols team that's breaking in a new coach and and a whole new offensive line. I don't see Tennessee being able to trade points with Oregon. And I gotta believe these Ducks would love to pop a marquee SEC team smack in the mouth, right in their checkerboard backyard. Lay it.
OHIO -7- against TOLEDO
Gonna fade Toledo until further notice. They were sky-high last week when they hosted Arizona. Still they got humiliated 41-2, amassing only 80 yds on the ground and 60 yds through the air. They've got a lot of work to do. I've got Ohio winning this game by 35-17, an easy cover.
As always, best of luck.
