    Memphis vs ECU (-12)
Hey guys, I've been lurking around here probably a little over a year now, but I've decided to throw some input in here and discuss a game that jumped out at me.

Memphis vs ECU (-12), this line looked funny because it opened at -13 but went down to -11 even with a strong ECU backing. The line stands at 12 now and to me all signs point to the Pirates. The last 5 meetings between these two teams the Pirates have won handily covering in each game. Memphis has also struggled to cover in only 1 of their last 8 road games. I don't think ECU will need a last second hail mary this week to beat the Tigers, I would feel more confident if Ruffin McNeill could field a semblance of defense in this game but I don't see Memphis being much of a threat fresh off a 49-7 thumping from Miss St.

I know there are some backers from Pirate nation around here so let me know if any let down should be expected. Look forward to hearing some opinions.

I jumped all over the -11. Memphis is usually awful but now they have a whole new coaching staff. They have shut practices and scrimmages off to the public and media, but I think they did it to hide how bad they are.

If we can learn anything from the games played this past weekend, albeit different opponents, I would lean heavily on ECU. They are apt to make some mistakes along the way but have what would appear to be a better team all the way around.

Must be noted though, that while I did watch the Tulsa/ECU game I only saw highlights of Memphis.

I feel confident ECU will be able to put up points offensively and Memphis just doesn't scare me with anything on the offensive side of the ball. They were inept on offense the entire game with penalties and shuffling quarterbacks. The one score came late in the 4th with the Bulldogs up 49-0. I think things get worse before they get better for the Tigers, I see a 14+ point victory for the purple and gold in Greenville.
