1. Mid October 09 - Nuggets to win the NC - - Loss (2nd Round)
2. Mid October 09 - Texas to win the NC - - Loss (2nd round)
3. Mid March 10 - Phillies to win the WS - Pending
4. Early June 10 - Brazil to win the WC - Lose
Some teams I looked at
Alabama (+500) - Obviously the best team in the country but that means jack shit in CFB. There challenging games consist of PSU, @ Ark, @ S. Carolina, @ LSU, Auburn. They probably don't lose a single one of those games. The problem I see here is an inexperienced defense
OSU (+600) - This team should be right up there this year. Challenging game with Miami, but there schedule isn't really that tough, they only play 4 road games all year. I think 2 of the 4 will be huge games when it comes down to it. But essentially, they should be in the Nat'l Championship as long as they beat Iowa and thats a big if.
Boise St (+1000) - If they beat V. tech they probably run the table again, but if 2 of the BCS conference teams have a unbeaten record, you can forgt about it. Besides all that, V. Tech always starts well, and this is essentially a home game for them. Not sure if we see Boise come out of that game unscathed
Florida (+1000) - Will probably be a great team again but I can't trust a guy whos coming in for his first start in a couple weeks to win the nat'l championship in a couple months
Pitt +6700 - They've got 5 games this year, in my eyes are toss ups. Therefore, taking them out of the equation
My Pick :
Alabama +500 - Even with short odds its hard to ignore that Nick Saban is a fantastic coach and its hard for me to furthermore believe that the won't have this defense ready. The offense might be even better this year. For an SEC school, Alabama has what looks like a manageable schedule compared to most years. A couple months ago I would have said OSU, but the odds are nearly the same, and OSU has 2 games that will end up being huge that I'm not sure they can win since there both on the road. Not that sure about Pryor yet either. The guy has his flashes, but he can make some bonehead moves at times.
