How Early to make CFB bets?
I've just about got all my capping done for the first week and got some plays I feel good about, when do most of you make your plays? I know week 1 is different than most weeks because we have 3 weeks still.

I hate playing too early and then a key player gets injured and you get screwed, however, it could work the other way and help you. I've got a few plays that I'm looking for the line to move in my favor so those may wait.

Play the ones you think might move AGAINST you small just incase injuries happen. Then add more to the play as the game gets near.

It all depends on how you play the game. I prefer watching the lines closely, and then jumping on my teams when the line swings their way. I got UCLA -1 and Northwestern -2.5 doing that. As far as injuries go, they happen, but if you get a great line, you can always wait for the line to swing the other way and middle out.

I'd probably wait to lay $ on a game until the week of the game. I know that injuries happen and that line is not going to make a dramatic move from now until then. So be patient and wait a little bit.

The biggest line movements already happen right when these games were released. It is worth watching the lines if a big injury happens, but otherwise if you didn't catch the opening lines, just wait till week of the game when more information is known about fall camps and practices and depth charts

I normally do not play games until a week before season starts. BUT, I am taking what I believe to be only minor risks with the plays I have made so far in order to get some good lines. Consider my side plays: USC, Nebraska, and Florida. You would have to lose several key starters in order for these bets not to have a chance against their far inferior opponents. All three coaches of these teams are going to try and score as many points as they can with the personnel they have available and their personnel are far superior to WKU, Miami (OH) and Hawaii. Northwestern is a higher risk play as one or two key injuries could change the security of that play against Vanderbilt. But, I was willing to take it because I think it is a low price to lay against a team that I think should win by a TD or better.

I also like to play on teams that have good and solid offensive and defensive lines. If you have good linemen, then it makes your skill positions much better.

Right now, I am also considering these plays as possible adds: Washington State, Maryland, SMU and Virginia Tech. BUT, I don't feel confident laying money on them until we get a lot closer because key injuries or developments could change things drastically.

I've already pulled the trigger on 7 sides, all favorites, and most of them big ones, as the lines were moving against these plays. Not to say this is the way to do it, but I didn't want to see those lines creep any higher even though the books can't post numbers large enough for those big faves.

Anyone know why the price for TCU has fallen?
