I would like to have seen both Dixon and Smith get invited. I certainly think both have earned it.

Smith has had a helluva year and with a good performance in the bowl can surpass Barry Sanders.

I have no problem with him getting some non-1st place votes for the Heisman. But, for the same reason Colt isn't going to win, he simply hasn't played the level of competition week in, week out, that Tebow and McFadden have played.

I guess you think football teams should perform some obligatory duty as well when looking for a new coach even though they already know who they want. It is the same thing here. These guys aren't invited beacuase the winner is already a lock. I still don't know what is more insulting, inviting or talking to them for perfucntory purposes or ignoring them outright.
