They did beat Michigan pretty badly last year in this game.....14 seems about right.

Business as usual for USC going to 3rd straight Rose Bowl and 6th straight BCS appearance. Illinois thrilled to be here and their season is a success just by landing in this game. Trojans are going to play with a chip on their shoulder and are out to prove they are a national power. Memo to Mel Kiepper...USC defense will have at least 9 players who will be playing on Sundays and they already faced a mobile QB in Dixon from Oregon and Locker from Washington (Sorry Juice Juice!). They held both squads way under there season average in rushing. Basically it boils down to this at the end of the day. USC's Pete Carroll against Illini head coach Zook is one of the biggest bowl mismatches. USC rolls and covers 13.5 points easily.

Rarely do you miss covering by 18 points and feel unlucky, but that was really the case here. Not that Illinois was some great play or anything, but the amazing things that went against them in this game ...

But USC's really good. I think individually, USC, UGA, and (hopefully) Oklahoma would have a legitimate shot at a split national championship if LSU were to beat OSU (which I do not think wil happen even though LSU is far superior), but because all three (and VT) will likely have the same record, they will steal each others' votes. Hope that was complicated enough for you.

USC showed they are a top team in the nation. Also in the process Illinois showed how the Big Eleven sucks.
