Yes, according to Athlon's College Football Magazine. They aparently out Steele'd Phil Steele's Magazine, ehich picked OU at #1. Both magazines hit the newstands yesterday, as did Lindy's who went more conventional and has Alabama #1, Boise State #2, OU #9 and USC #12.

#6What probation? There will be no probation. Loss of scholarships, yes. Other Mickey Mouse stuff that no one really cares about, yes. Probation, no.Comment -

#9The Pac-10 didn't get any better when Carrol left. They should be favored in every game this year, just gotta take care of business.Comment -

#11Bleacher report has Ohio St, Alabama and USC I believe 123 Fantasy season ending. USC predicted to lose to Oregon only and Virginia Tech to beat Boise in the opener, FWIW.Comment -

#12Their tough away games are at Arizona, at Oregon State and at Stanford. They have game at Hawaii, so they are going to play 13 games. Unless the wheels fall off, they will start at 4-0 with wins at Hawaii, against Virginia, at Minnesota and at Washington State. That carries them thru the month of Spetember. In October, the real test starts with games vs Washington, at Stanford, vs Cal, and vs Oregon. They have a week off in between the Cal and Oregon games, and only the Stanford game is away.
It appears tat everyone expects the Pac 10 teams to beat up on each other once again tis season. There is no reason to believe that this will not happen, but equally no reason to believe that one team can not stand out. I think that either USC or Oregon will be that team.Comment -

#15No one in the Pac 10 will be a top five team when the dust settles. Steele bases a lot of his assumptions on what a players PS rating was when he was recruited out of high school and what that team's schedule is like. Steele has become a know it all assclown the last half dozen years. His picks have fallen way off the mark.Comment -

#19you maybe right about usc getting wrist slapped . NCAA is about useless in enforcing rules. All you have to do is ask Reggie Bush how he got those half million dollar earrings before he was drafted? you don't have to look hard to find violations at USC in football or basketballComment -

#20the main question is their O-line. if they don't get hurt (namely kris o'dowd) then USC can do very well this year. #3 however is a bit of a stretchComment
