They may not be as good as advertised but I still think they are a very real threat this year. If they can find anyone to step up at the receiver position I see big things.

TCU is better than you give them credit for but they need more meat on their plate. They do play Clemson early. Clemson isn't great but respectable. Oregon State or any other Pac 10 school is only "decent" at this point. Utah, BYU, and Air Force will probably be just as good if not better. Not alot of love for the Pac 10 here. Again, how many of them won a bowl game this season?

If BSU is ranked anywhere near #5 in preseason and only one (or zero) other teams go undefeated, they'll be in the championship game if they run the table.

Where do you dream this stuff up? TCU does NOT play Clemson. Their non-con schedule is Oregon State at Jerrywrold, home to Tennessee Tech and Baylor, and away at SMU. Saying that BYU, minus their best players QB Hall (graduation) and RB Unga (Kicked out of school), and 7 defensive starters is going to be just as good as Oregon State is way off the mark. Not even close. Ditto the Air Force who loses their entire offensive line. You have to look ahead, not behind. Obviously you base everything on last year's bowl performances. That is a real good way to lose a lot of money. Please try to get your facts straight.

As far as the Pac 10 being a weak conference over the last few years, they went 2-5 in bowl games last year, 5-0 in 2008, 4-2 in 2007 (with one loss by 1 point), and 3-2 in 2006. Now that adds up to a 14-9 record over those 4 years. Where do you see weakness there? USC was responsible for 4 of those wins, so without USC, the Pac 10 is still 10-9. The Big 10 was 10-19 during that period. I guess they must really be terrible. Do not even dare tell me that the Big 10 is better than the Pac 10. Do not even go there.

No. It is not the Congresses business. Their simply is not going to be a playoff system for some time. The only possible way to implement one would be to go to a plus one system, where the top 8 teams play in the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, and Orange Bowls and the teams voted #1 and 2 after theose bowls meet in a BCS Championship playoff two weeks or so later. In order to do that, all bowl games would have to be complete by Jan 3 at the latest. That means no more of these phony bowls after Jan 3. That also means that the Bowls may have to break their tie-ins with conferences if a conference does not have a Top 8 team in it. Last season that would have meant that there would have been no ACC team in a BCS Bowl game because Ga. Tech was the highest ranking ACC team before the bowls began and they were at #9.

Knowing the bowls as I do, they will never break their tie-ins, so that simply can not happen. Now the BCS could go to 5 BCS Bowls very easily by adding the Cotton Bowl and Jerryworld to their list of BCS Bowls. If the Big East survives this next round of expansion, that gives you 6 conference champions and still leaves room for 4 at large picks. That may work.

the issue with playoffs, is some players wont support. Remenber when colt mccoy decided not to return to bcs nat. champ to prevent to get injury again or lost some of his "draft stock". Imagine if there are 3 rounds, some player that are projected to be 1st round choices wont play with the intensity or willing in order to prevent injuries/decline his stock (since in a playoff system the grade of competition will be more even than in a regular season). Coaches know that so they wont push it, because they also want to continue coaching. But i still think a playoff system like the fcs is the way to go, not this expert or computers polls.

I completely agree. This government has enough troubles to deal with. College Football is not one of them.
