I've been looking at this EC/BC game for a while now. It will be interesting to see how Regul8er sees it?
EC has this lefty QB that is one of these guys that seems to have been around forever. He's not great, but he can make some nice throws and can run around a little bit. Seems to be a good leader too! Holton Ahlers (18 tds/10 picks/6 rushing tds)
Pros for EC as I see it: Underdog +3 or more 7 times this season (5-2 ats). Played 7 bowl bound teams and weren't embarrassed. Lost to UCF (by 4) and Houston (by 7 OT) on the road. They beat Memphis in OT. If you throw out the finale vs Cincinnati, they scored 34 ppg in their last 9 games.
BC started 4-0 and finished 6-6. Thats not good. Whenever you hear about BC its something like "Oh they're a different team with Jurkovec at QB" like he's Matt Ryan Jr. He's not! Came back in November and had 4 TDs/4 picks in 4 games. Last time out they scored a whopping 10 pts on Wake's shitty defense and the mighty Jurkovec completed 3 passes for 19 yards with 2 picks. 3 to us and to 2 to them is not good)) BC played 5 bowl bound teams and went 1-4 with 3 losses by 14+.
In summary I think EC has the QB advantage and slight talent and motivational edge here. BC is 1-7 in their last 8 bowls. EC hasn't played in a bowl since 2014. I think this is like the Utah State/Oregon St game where the team from the bigger conference is favored by reputation. EC has played a ton of close games so I'll probably spread it like 50/50 on +3 and ML. Looks like Bovada is the way to go here for EC backers. Nevada is completely gutted. 6 of 7 top receivers out. Of course QB Carson Strong is out. Top tackler out. 2 starting Oline out. Entire off staff went with old coach. They'll fight but I see lack of depth and situation like Florida/UCF game. Nevada might be close 1H but will wear down w/all these kids that aren't used to playing
Nevada QB is 6'9" too? Nobody and I mean nobody has ever been good at that height? Won't be able to run away? WM will wear them down in a boring game like 31-16 imo

Not a huge Finley fan with Nix gone to Oregon. Auburn missing alot of guys and really faltered down the stretch, when they were set up to have a memorable season. I would give the motivational edge to Houston, getting a crack at a high profile SEC opponent. The Cougars are no joke, and should have no problem moving the ball….just need them ending for 7 and not 3.

My big play today is Louisville/Air Force Over 54.5. Haven't played Lville at all this year, but usually I bet them Over quite a bit. They always have sloppy tackling and a lack of discipline on defense. Also Cunningham on Lville has 37 total TDs and they have wayyyyy too much skill/speed for the AF defense. I think its atleast something like 34-27 atleast. My only worry is 9 min drives for AF, but Lville is too undisciplined. AF will play-action and receivers will float out all alone or they'll just house a long run after missed tackles.
Might love NC State tonite, but have to work on it a little more. They returned 20 starters this season so I've been on them quite a bit. Their only 3 losses were true road games to bowl teams.Last edited by Fred The Hammer; 12-28-21, 10:14 AM.Comment -

Louisville in the bottom half of stopping the run isnt going to fair well against Air Force here. Other then a slipup vs Army, Air Force has been impressive, with their only losses were tight games vs San Diego St and Utah St. I love backing military schools in bowl games…..alot of the Seniors last chance to have fun before being deployed. I had Air Force capped as a 3 point favorite, so Ill gladly take them as a pickem.Comment
