Here is someething that I read if you care about trends at all: "Miami is now riding a very poor 11-21 ATS streak at home. They just aren't the same Miami team. They are just 1-7 in their last eight vs. ranked opponents!" also "Texas A&M returned 9 starters on offense and ranks third in the nation in rushing (296 yards per game)." That being said, here's something else I found: "Meanwhile, the Aggies - who won their first four games last season en route to a 9-4 finish, their best since 1998 - haven't been undefeated after four games in consecutive seasons since 1956-57 under coach Bear Bryant." And yet another item: "Hurricanes only managed to put 23 points on the board against a Florida International team that has dropped 15 straight games. This is the same Florida Intl team that Penn State smoked 59-0."....I am with ritehook and really like the over in this game and would lean towards Texas A&M and the points.

Most of the above is useful and certainly points toward A&M. Thanks for putting that info here.
But, the part about 4-0 in consecutive years is the kind of meaningless trend that, while of interest, makes me wonder what kind of capper would deem it of value. I wonder if the survivors of the '56-'57 teams have their champagne ready for a toast if A&M loses.

Texas AM only lost 3 regular season games last year.

          Texas Tech by 4
          Oklahoma by 1
          Nebraska by 1

and they beat Texas, only bad game was bowl game where they got blown out by Cal.

hhsilver....it was just an interesting fact that's all...I wasn't "capping" the game based on it or any part of it. I think if someone were to cap this game and was still unsure about A&M, maybe this would be something that would help them make a decision....who knows? The more facts and informaiton you can get for a particular game the better...even the most trivial information can't hurt. This trend does show that A&M doesn't have a history of going 4-0 two years in a row and I am sure that could be said for most college teams.

hhsilver, I didn't see any useful information from you on this game....did you decide to write a comment on one thing I pointed out that you didn't care for? Your post would be better if you gave us with who you thought would win or what your leans were in this game...that's what this forum is for isn't it? I still like the over and A&M for tonight.

                      ntgarrett :

I think it was obvious that you were quoting someone else's writeup and that you weren't capping the game. My comment about a capper using such a useless, but interesting ( and I did say it was interesting), trend was not directed at you, but rather the person you were quoting. You were only the messenger and believe me, I was not trying to kill the messenger. I get annoyed by write ups (and again, I know it wasn't your write up) that use such trivial stats/trends as a tool for picking a winner. This one struck me as one of the more outlandish. But it brought back memories of those great A&M teams of the mid 50s with All Americans John Crow (Heisman ) and Charlie Krueger. A little nostalgia is good sometimes.

I did thank for bringing us the other info in your quote. The returning starters and Miami's game against FIU were very pertinent and, in fact, are not trends. Again, thanks for that.

I think about 60% is on A&M. Not an overwhelming public play.
