    Ron Turner Leaves Stanford
Ron Turner, who was recently hired by Jim Harbaugh to be the Stanford QB's coach, has left Stanford to join the Indianapolis Colts. Turner becomes the second assistant coach hired by Harbaugh this year to leave within two to three weeks after his hiring. One has to wonder why Harbaugh cannot keep assistant coaches.

Well come on, would you rather coach in the NFL or be Stanford QB coach? Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Then why accept the job to begin with? And what about the other assistant coaches who have left the program?

Two to three weeks after being hired...wow. Should of just ****in waited...you'd think contracts had clauses these days.

Same thing happened to Urban Meyer too.

He hired a Dolphins assistant to be his new DC---and then the guy left after a week on the job.

              Odd stuff.

I guess these former NFL assistant coaches decide not to put up with the rules and regulations that colleges must follow. There is a world of difference between the NFL and NCAA rule wise, as far as training is concerned. Who knows.

As a Cal alum, you must be concerned with the performance of Jeff Tedford and the CAl team as a whole. Last year had to be a major disappointment. In Tedford's 8 years, Cal has still failed to win a Pac 10 title. How much longer will Cal fans and alum put up with this type of underachieving? Cal's record in the past 5 years under Tddford is 8-4, 10-3, 7-6, 9-4, and 8-5. That is a good record, but not the record of a team that wants to challenge for the Pac 10 Championship. They were suppose to challenge for the Pac 10 title last year, but humiliating losses to Oregon, USC, Oregon State and Washington derailed that dream. I wonder how long Cal will put up with finishing 2nd-5th in the Pac 10.

I hear ya. Tedford needs to do something or he'll be gone. I think Shane Vareen will surprise a lot of people this upcoming season. I liked what I saw from him this past season. Hopefully the QB situation can work itself out too. Not a fan of Kevin Riley at all.

I'm hoping that Best can avoid injuries in the NFL. I think that the guy can have a bright future though.
