So what does everyone think about Tennessee? Their defense is struggling.. they don't have receivers to make the big plays down field. I have been thinking about laying down heavily on Tenn. I think ainge is solid and could pull it off.

So. Miss is good enough to keep this game competitive for a bit, but they're not winning outright in Knoxville in front of 100,000+ in the Vols home opener.

I guess the question I'm asking is: can the Vols stop anybody? In my opinion, Southern Miss should be able to run the ball on UT. If the answer is "yes, the Vols will be able to stop So Miss from running the ball", then this teaser looks golden. However, if the UT front 7 is a sham, a good running game on the road is a great neutralizer. If UT loads the box to stop the running game, can Southern Miss take advantage with some relatively easy conversions in the passing game? I don't know if So Miss can make the pass plays work but, if they can, this one could get interesting. Fulmer is not the best at adjusting on the fly.

Southern Miss offense is in no way in the same league as Cal. You cant judge their D by that game going against one of the best offenses in the game.

I did not say that So. Miss's offense is in the same class as Cal's but I do believe I can make a judgment based on what I saw against Cal. That judgment may be wrong but that is what this gambling thing is all about, right? I did say that I believe Southern Miss should be able to run the ball on UT.

For the sake of argument, let's say that my opinion above is correct (I believe I'm right but I could be wrong as I have been before). If So Miss is able to run the ball successfully on UT, then UT has to make a decision. Do they let that continue or do they load up the box and make So Miss throw to convert? I say it is likely that So Miss will be forced to make some big plays in the passing game. I'm not confident So Miss can make big plays in the passing game but if they can it will get real interesting.

My point was that, out of the 3 games in the teaser, I think Tennessee is the weakest link in the teaser. I'll probably end up playing So Miss this weekend but that may be a good thing for IMGV because I went 7 and 10 in Week 1. Not too good.

Yes. They're good enough to win. I don't think they will, if I was going to play the game it would probably be Tennessee, but Southern Miss is the class of C-USA, they have the much better defense and coach, it's a terrible sandwich game for Tennessee ... I don't say this is an easy win at all.

IMG, Following your lead on this one bro... I think it looks really solid... Vols aren't going to lose a home opener in front of 110,000 fans... Sooners should cover the 10.5 outright, IMO and the Longhorns should come to play this Saturday after their lackluster performance last week! I've got 2 units on this bud!
