#4I agree. UGA probably has the best shot to unseat Florida. Most of their offense returns intact, and they are suppose to have a couple of good QB prospects. They will have to replace some players on defense, but after last year's production, that should not be a real problem. They do have to go to South Carolina and Auburn, but get what is left of Tennessee at home. No Alabama is a big plus, considering that Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee must play the Tide. Georgia also ducks LSU.Comment -

#5I am one of the biggest Bama homers there are, with that said, I can only hope it is Bama out of the west....the past year Bama played 4 teams coming off bye weeks.....in 2010 Bama will play 6 teams coming off bye weeks....That is the price of being the hunted......not the least being 10 off the 12 teams we play in the regular season went to a bowl game....Comment -

#6If South Carolina doesn't win next year they never will.
Don't count Tennessee completely out. They will still have a lot of talent. It'll be interesting to see which players transfer to USC to get paid more though.Comment -

#7I don't know who will, but I'm pretty confident it wont be South Carolina. They get hyped every year as the SEC dark horse contender but never materialize into what's expected.Comment -

#8As far as South Carolina goes, they have 8 returning on both sides of the ball, including QB Garcia on offense. The play the SEC West's "A" team, comprised of Alabama, Arkansas, and Auburn, but only Auburn is an away game. They also play at Florida. The non-con schedule is not difficult, with Southern Miss, Furman, and Troy visiting, and Clemson on the road. The problem with South Carolina is that they just never do anything. They have been to 4 bowls in 5 years under Spurrier (1-3 in those games), but they have never won more than 8 games since 2001. They are 1-4 (0-4 recently) vs Florida, 1-4 vs Georgia, and 2-3 vs Tennessee under Spurriers watch. They are also 2-3 against their yearly opponent in the West, Arkansas.
South Carolina is the type of team that can pull the occasional upset, but just never plays consistantly enough to be a major factor in the SEC. They scored 28 or more 5 times last season, but were held to 16 or less in the other 8 games, and 7 or less in three of those. The defense was just as flakey. South Carolina will be around, but will not finish on top in the SEC East.Comment -

#12That's why I said KY has a better chance. I don't understand why spurrier can't do better there. I am a huge UT fan but I really like Spurrier, we share the same home town. The guy is a genius but he just seems like he's lost his mojo!Comment -

#13Florida is pretty loaded still...their new qb doesn't look too bad. Garcia kind of stinks I agree.Comment -

#14I still think that Florida has to be the favorite to win the SEC East. I amjust talking about other teams that have a good short, now that Florida has been hit hard by graduation, defections to the NFL, and the fiasco that will surround Urban Meyer. Net years schedule, including a gurdge revenge game at Tennessee, a game at Alabama, the usual cocktail party aginst Georgia, and a home game against LSU do not make things any easier for Florida either.Comment
