    Thursday's BOWLS
Houston-5(3units) PLENTY Of VERY Obvious reasons for Many to take Air Force today…The numbers look like a AF su win today and A LOT on the Many Forums in internet land are licking their chops..I Myself look at these Bowls with a skeptical eye…When they look that easy using the numbers and stats, and when all over in the many football forums on the net folks are making a Quick,Cant lose Jump On the AF Today I have to thorw out my red flag for another look as It usually is not that Easy, esp in Bowls… Air F. ranks 1st in pass defense giving up only 148.7 yards , However BYU ended up throwing for 377 yards and 5 TDs in a 38-21 victory over the Falcons In Air Forces last game,( defense gave up 498 yds & 38 points to byu )Story I think behind AF great looking defensive number are they didn’t play a lot of good passing teams…UNLV had less than 150 passing yards, Army, Colorado State and Navy do not pass (Navy 36 yards passing, Army 44 yards passing, Colorado State 90 yards passing) Air Force has not played a passing team better then 49th this year except BYU which shredded them…"We'll see who's best," UH receiver Tyron Carrier said. "Not every game to you get to play against the best."

…Another Pro AF Stat...Air Force should be able to run the ball on Houston, as the Cougars rank 112th out of 120.…if Air Force can move the chains methodically and shorten the game, its defense will have to spend less time on the field….That sounds awfully good BUT Air Force is 0-6 all time at Amon G. Carter Stadium..Last Year AF lost to Houston in this same Bowl 34-28 and couldn‘t win with that same game plan...The Falcons have lost three straight bowl games and six of their past eight Bowls,The Air Force appears to me that preparations for Bowls is not too good historically.. remember, They got all them push ups to do everyday…
Conclusion: Maybe everyone is right…Air Force will shut down that AWESOME Houston passing game, control the clock with the running game against that “AWFUL” Houston defense and provide the many that su AF win…Then again, If one team has the potential to blow the other completely out for a easy win….that would be Houston…I Think a lot of AF Betters are going to be shocked at that Number One passing defense banner AF proudly talks about…(Houston heard about it too) Houston, They have the Better, and faster Athletes….Houston has had a lot of time to prepare for the triple option…UH linebacker Marcus McGraw has been a man on a mission. With 133 tackles this season, McGraw ranks 14th in the nation…see, Houston does have a defense star!
I don’t think this game will be a blow out, but I think Houston will cover that 5!

    Stanford +10(2units)
Tavita Pritchard will be under center for this game for Stanford..Sooners won’t be getting a Cherry here as Pritchard guided the Cardinal to a 24-23 win over Southern California as 39-point road Dog in 2007...Underdog in the Sun Bowl is 11-1-1 ATS..Bob Stoops has lost 5 of 6 Bowl games…Seen last Night his Brother is a Boob too in Bowl Games…I Can’t trust Stoops to have his team ready…
Sooners 6-4 SU and 4-6 ATS as favorites in 2009
On the road this year Oklahoma are only 1-4-1 ATS

I like your OU bet, as Stoops is known to choke in bowl games. The only thing I am worried about is that playing Stanford in the Sun Bowl does not nearly carry the importance of what bowls OU usually plays in.

This could go either way, but I am thinking Stoops cannot pull A Carrol and cover the spread in this one, esp. if it is double digits. A rather conservative play for me, no more than .5-1 units, but Stan+10 seems too good to pass up.

Stanford has a great RB but defense usually prevails in bowl games, though OU has dropped 3 straight, they have not played anyone with the talent of Stanford, and are rightfully easily favored.

      GL everyone

Update: Stanford's QB hasn't practiced in a month since having surgery on his index finger on his throwing arm.. 'Could play' but I believe that if Stanford has a chance of winning then their pass offense will have to step up. They have had no back-up QB with any real game experience and Luck only has 13 TD passes for the season anyways.

Anyone have input on total? I might stay away from it, as last time OU was -10 against OSU, OSU got shut out and OU posted only 27 points.

        Iowa st +1(5 Units)

Karma!! always go with the Karma!!

I LOVE THIS Game! Gophers are in a slump and Iowa St is FIRED Up! When Iowa St athletic director Jamie Pollard interviewed Paul Rhoads to fill the suddenly vacant office formerly inhabited by football coach Gene Chizik.
asks Rhoads the first thing he would tell a football team.
"I told Jamie the first thing I would tell a football team was that I was proud to be their coach and that we would prepare diligently to win a bowl game," Rhoads said a year ago…"What he said isn't just a bunch of bull," tailback Alexander Robinson said. "That's exactly what he said.

"He said he was proud to be our coach, but he also said that we not only would play to get to a bowl game, but to win a bowl game.

"Those were the first words out of his mouth the first time he got us all together as a team, and I'm telling you the truth."… This after Iowa St won 2 games the previous season! …
The Gophers offense didn't score a touchdown in the final two games…how are they feeling? Probably, Not-so-good….Iowa State likes to take the ball away, 30 times this season, tied for eighth-most in the country…Don’t go againt Karma!!! 5 units…Iowa st!!

VT-4(2 UNITS)Trust Jonathan Crompton and Kiffin or Beamer and special teams? it's never a good thing to go into a bowl game as an underdog with your placekicking duties unsettled.... it's unclear whether Daniel Lincoln or Devan Mathis (or even punter Chad Cunningham) will attempt field goals For Tenn tonight...Kiffin
