Is it me..or are the Bowl clocks moving slower
The last 2 nights games, BYU/OR State and Cal/Utah the time clock seems to be stopped for too long on way too many occasions.
Obviously CFB moves slower then the NFL due to stopping to move the chains, but there have been several cases where the referee is signaling to keep the clock moving when the play goes near the end lines, and the clock stops anyway or the chains get re-set, the whistle blows and the clock still doesn't move.

I think this has a direct impact on the overall score and makes it tough to handicap over/unders when the time clock movement is so selective.

I've heard some speculation of this happening in the prime time games to increase scoring but I don't remember it being so blatant as in the last 2 nights

I have not noticed this at all. If anything, I see the clocks burning up time when they should be stopped, especially near the end of the blowout games. I think that you are making an issue out of nothing.

Don't let it determine your gaming habits. Nothing is going on with the clocks. The fact is that the defenses have just been lousy in the past 5 games.

Ive had 1 over and 1 under so its been a wash for me.

Its obvious its happening if you watch the officials and the clock

Kind of like last night's game at the end of the 1st half, there was clearly at least 3 seconds left on the clock when the player went out of bounds. They even reviewed it and still said it was halftime. That was mind boggling!!

If you are running backwards (away from the direction to gain yards) when you go out of bounds then the clock continues to run. That's why they kept the clock moving.

Didn't he get knocked backwards though?

Maybe, I can't remember. I just remember thinking at the time that it was the right call because the receiver ran backwards a little so he could get out of bounds.

I've thought the games have been moving very fast. The last two nights, the games started right on time and finished in about 3 hours. That will change as the bowl games get more pricey. We'll see longer halftimes for sure.
