Well, the first problem is that LSU has no offense. LSU's offense was held to 3 points by Florida, at home. The same Flroida defense that got trampled on by Alabama. The second, and bigger problem is that Les Miles is perfectly capable of having a brain fart and snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory, as he did against Ole Miss. The huge advantage that LSU has is their schedule. Their SOS is 16, compared to Penn States 83. I think that LSU's overall team speed will be the difference, and that the ML play is the correct play, but I sure would not wager the mortgage on this game.

LSU and the points - typical SEC vs Big10 thrashing. Paterno 23-11-1 in bowl games and 5 in a row. 33rd in scoring in the nation with the Offense, but 8th ranked Defense, and havent beaten a ranked team all season. Routed by OSU in Happy Valley and 4-0 ATS (62 pt deficit) on the road. LSU lost to Florida and Bama by a total of 21 points - typical and tough SEC schedule. Covered in the last 4 bowl games by a total 100+ pts. Penn St just hasnt seen a D as quick and fast as theyll see in LSU - and the LSU Offense behing Jefferson - who has 16 TD tosses to just 6 INTs - isnt a slouch either.

Is there anyone in here that will take Penn State? I'm just wondering, because I have not seen anyone in here back Penn State, and that usually spells doom for the opposing team. There has to be a reason why Penn State is favored in this game. I agree with everyone else in here that LSU is the play because of overall team speed, however LSU's offense is little more than a joke, and Les Miles in game decisions runs a close second. It will be up to the LSU defense to win this game. I become very leary of games where everyone seems to be on one side. I think Fresno State fans will agree with me on that.

Daddy I think your over exaggerating LSU offense. Yea they did struggle this year but they have the talent to turn it on. You're going off of SEC competition and you can't sit on here and compare the Florida and Bama game to this Penn St game. There is exactly no comparison. I believe LSU win this big. Anytime you give Miles time to prepare for a team he has the record to prove he dominates. Also the reason LSU is a dog in this game is because of injuries. LSU will play there 3rd running back is a prime example. But that doesn't matter 5 star Steven Ridley and the fastest football player Trenton Holliday will get the carries. Also 5 star freshman Russel Shepard will get carries. So there is no drop off!

There is no question that JoePa could outcoach Les Miles in his sleep, but JoePa had it handed to him by a much faster USC team in the Rose Bowl last year. The Big 10 should be renamed the Slow 11, because that is what they are. A woman who is 8 months pregnant could out run half of the Slow 11 players. Still, when everyone dumps on one team, they normally lose, and that is my fear here. But for the record, Les Miles has a BETTER bowl record in the past 4 years than JoePa. Miles has not lost a bowl game. JoePa has. Perhaps people like the one above should check their stats before running their mouths.

better record in the past four years wow that is impressive, a legacy indeed. I'm curious if you've ever actually played football or are you one of the many masses that sit behind your keyboard making sweeping statements about a game you're an expert at from a chair. I will give you the fact that the big ten has been down lately but football is cyclical. You SEC lovers act like there has never been a good team outside the conference. I seem to remember PSU sticking it to Tenn a couple times as well as some other "faster" teams. Miami was essentially an NFL scout team in 87 with pro speed at all positions. Its a team game, not a bunch of track athletes running a skeleton drill. There are so many experts on this forum who I'd love to actually see in person because it would crack me up. On a side note I am not betting the LSU-PSU game because I think they're both equally horrible this year, but to say LSU wins 38-10 is a joke and shows a lack of actual thought. There is a reason PSU plays well in bowl games and have beaten better teams even off a down season. Getting hot for four years doesn't equal on automatic when against a well coached team who has proven to play well in bowl games, so I actually have given this some thought and will run my mouth off at will

You my friend obviously enjoy the security of sitting behind that very same keyboard you so lovingly mentioned. Four years doesnt make a dynasty, true but you have to blow the dust off of your 1987 facts...Bama beat Miami in 92....big deal that was a long time ago....In the relevant now Lsu has out preformed any team in the Big 10 You can think of. So in closing, you should adhere to your own advice before giving it to others.....Sound and fury signifying nothing is just that, nothing.

If LSU was in the big10 they would be undefeated right now probably playing for a national title.

you people can't say LSU lost to Bama, Florida and Ole Miss and there not good!LSU has more speed and talent than Penn State hands down and LSU will dominate them. Penn St lost at home to Ohio St and they lost to a Iowa team who isn't better than Tennessee if you ask me. Bottom line

yes the Miami game was a long time ago but my point is that pure speed (or overly hyped conference speed) can not win you a game alone otherwise Penn State should have lost 97-0 in the Miami game as well as other games where there were supposed mismatches in speed.
