FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno State coach Pat Hill will got a contract extension to stay at the school beyond the 2010 season.
Hill and the school announced Sunday night that the sides have agreed to a new contract. Hill's current deal expires after next season.
Final details of the contract are still being worked out. The two sides will work out terms after the holidays and make a formal announcement when the deal is signed.
Hill has a 100-65 record in 11 seasons at Fresno State. He has led the Bulldogs to their 10th bowl game in his tenure. Fresno State (8-4) plays Wyoming in the New Mexico Bowl on Saturday.

I think that's an important point, and the reason that i almost backed off of Fresno State. However, there's no getting past the fact that, although Fresno certainly has their issues, Wyoming is putrid. They are the worst bowl team. The Cowboys’ six wins were against Weber State, UNLV, Florida Atlantic, New Mexico, San Diego State and Colorado State, and the only team they beat by more than one score was New Mexico. Meanwhile, they scored a total of 30 points in their 6 losses, and never more than 10 in a given game (including shut-outs against BYU, Air Force and Colorado). With Matthews back at 100% i'm on Fresno, though i'll admit to being less than enthused about giving 10.5 with a team that's 0-4 as bowl chalk.

Wyoming averaged nearly 29 ppg in their wins, 5 ppg in their losses, and i'm pretty confident they lose outright here. Fresno should score 28-30+, and Wyoming may well struggle to get more than 10, and anything over 17 will be a very pleasant surprise for them given that they haven't topped 10 in any of their losses. almost no-played it, but ended up with Fresno small. bol to you in the bowls (except this one, of course, but only because i'm opposite).

Fresno State has played up to, and down to it's level of competition all year. 10.5 is too many points to give in tis game. Pass.

This game is a tough one for me. First off, Wyoming shouldn't even be in a bowl. I'd bet Syracuse would beat Wyoming.

But Fresno has played down to their opponents this season. And ..their defense is not very good. When a team is giving double digit points and runs the ball 80% of time. They need a decent defense to cover that spread.

But overall. Wyoming is terrible. I think Fresno wins by 30 pts!

Wyoming could easily win this game, Fresno St has zero run defense even against mediocre teams, did you see that hole for the 68 yrd run unreal, also if you notice on 3rd and long the QB has just picked it up and then some running

Fresno's pass defense is great just their terrible run defense hurts them
