    Quick question on football trends.
Ok, I have been playing sports for almost two years now, and I have been going to a website that shows trends and matchups and stuff. I pay attention to some of the trends, but i ignore most because they seem irrelevant. Like ones about yards gained allowed, maybe those are important but i dont consider them much. Then one caught my eye when i was looking at the Wyoming/Fresno State game. "Bulldogs are 9-26 ATS in their last 35 games on grass." I was wondering if I should take this into consideration when i play this game. Do some teams just play better on turf or is that just another random trend? Thanks for all the help and good luck to all this wonderful holiday season filled with bowls and the playoffs.

Some people put a lot of stock in trends and others don't. I tend to pay more attention to them in pro sports more than I do in collegiate because they seem to be more consistent and hold up more often. With your example of grass/turf, that is a trend I would put some value on because its the surface they are playing on and that's pretty darn important. Plus the number is pretty eye popping, 9-26, that's tough to overlook. Not saying I would make a play just because of this trend, but it may be something that would push me over the hump with other factors I already liked or it may push me to not play it.

That is a very dangerous trend to put any weight into and here is why. Teams that play on turf tend to lose a step when they play on the softer grass. Now Fresno State has a poor record on grass, but they play all of their home games on grass, so what is the trend really telling you. Is it telling you that they are a lousy home favorite, or they are lousy on the grass? Well, the fact is that Fresno State is a lousy favorite no matter where they play. Wyoming is a turf team going to play on a grass field. So in this case, that stat is really meaningless.

a hundred bucks. i lost it on greek and switched to bookmaker. i dont play huge games, 5-10 bucks a game and i do it for fun. but you didnt have to be a dick. i consider trends that i think are important like if a team is good off a bye week or loss, and i was just asking about trends that dont seem to matter. but thanks for your imput "the profit".
