    Early Vegas Plays
Both to be middled, we hope. San Diego State -1 vs Wyoming. Looking for the line to soar. South Florida +3 at Rutgers. Expecting South Florida to be the eventual favorite.

Gentlemen, look at the lines on Sunday afternoon when they first come out. This can be found at Vegas Insiders. Those are what is commonly known in the business as the "lead lines". The lines are adjusted off of those leads depending on how much money goes down on each team. Being able to play the lead lines is one of the advantages of wagering with a group of players. We wager as one, even though there are more than one of us. Because of the size of our wagers, we have privy to wagering the lead lines. I am sure that if some of the people in here who wager fairly substantial amounts of money got together and wagered as one, they would be offered the same courtesies that we get. As many of you correctly point out, it is the amount of money wagered on a team, not the percentage of people who are wagering on a team, that counts. Those who are not experienced enough in these matters often see games as "traps", when in effect, many people are wagering as one. I am sure that those of you who are experienced players understand what I am talking about. By experienced, I mean over 5 years of wagering.

Pinnacle released the line SD St. -5.

You are right about the lead lines though. LVSC released SD St. at -1. But you cant bet the lines in vegas until 12:00 pm Monday. So I dont expect the line to be far off from the pinnacles.

Houlihans, the PUBLIC can not bet those lines until 12:00 noon on Monday. I am not talking about the public. I am talking about the alleged "wiseguys", "cartells", "sharpies" or whatever you want to call them who are given first shot at the lines because they wager so much. This is why LVSC releases the lines on Sunday. As I am sure you know, Joe Pub can wager the NFL lines on Sunday at the Hilton. They do not get that priveledge for the college games. Now since 95% or more of the people in here wager on line or through a local, 95% or more of the people in here are not going to have privy to this advantage. I understand that it is nearly impossible for just about all of these people to wager in Vegas, but believe me, if enough ban together, it can be done. For those of you interested in this, Vegas actually has people, called brokers, that will wager for you. It is not cheap unless you wager large amounts because these "brokers" charge a flat fee. I believe the fee varies from $200-$500 a week. So if you wager 5 large a game and wager on 20 games, the fee is cheap, but if you wager 500 a game for 20 games, the percentage climbs dramatically.

How much money do you need to wager to get these lead lines. I have heard of ealry lines that are released to a select few players, then lines are adjusted from there, but i have never heard of lead lines that are available to anhyone that wagers a good amount. My average bet size is around 2k, and my best plays are usually 5k. How much doe to get lead line advantage, I am very interested.
