Phags here is my Play of the week. An early matchup at noon. I am absolutly Loving Kentucky(-14) to name thier score against in state rival Louisville. Shutout Louiville last year only allowing a safety and that will not change this year. Here are my thoughts. We have Superior athletes at Kentucky( SEC vs. Big East). Big home game against an in state rival, thats why I am not to concerned about Ky. looking forward to next weeks game against #1 Florida. Ky. has had 2 weeks to prepare for saturdays game and Coach Brooks wil have them focused on this big rivalry wanting them to gain as much confidence going into next weeks game vs. Fl. 2 weeks to prepare is HUGE and in front of a crazy home crowd the Wildcats will not disappoint their fans their coaches or themselves. This will get ugly quick!
• Kentucky has won 15 straight games against non-conference opponents, the second-longest streak in the nation. The run dates to 2006 when the Wildcats lost the season-opener to Louisville 59-28.
• The Wildcats held three of their four non-conference opponents in 2008 to three points or less, including the 27-2 win over Louisville.
Quote To Note: “(Coach Rich Brooks) already told us that we made too many errors in that first game, and if we make those same errors again we could lose the game. No one’s overconfident. We’re all ready to play. The tempo is getting picked up in practice. Everyone’s excited. It’s our first home game and our arch-rival. You can’t not be ready for this.”—Kentucky junior DT Ricky Lumpkin in the Lexington Herald-Leader
Keys To The Game: The Kentucky secondary, led by Trevard Lindley, no doubt will be primed for Louisville QB Justin Burke, who threw two interceptions in his college debut against Indiana State. The Wildcats’ defense had two picks in their season-opener two weeks ago, and could change the game this time around with turnovers against an inexperienced quarterback.
KENTUCKY wins BIG
