Thanks for your post Martin!!! But where you are in error is to characterize this as an "Alabama fans" thread. This thread WAS NOT intended to be an "Alabama fan" thread. As I said in the very beginning of my write up, I was not trying to covert people into being Alabama fans. The clearly stated purpose was, and I quote, "to win some damn money!!!"
I don't bet on Alabama games because I'm an Alabama fan, which undubitably I am. I bet on Alabama games to win money, and there was absolutely no question in my mind Alabama would cover this game. That's why I wagered money on it. Plain and simple. And I did my best to get others on this board on the right side of the game as well.

It was quite evident that McElroy had first game jitters in the first half, and he readily admitted that after the game. But he settled down nicely in the second half, and gave people a glimpse of his future potential. Undoubtably the Hokie defense was a very tough task for him in his first game. But with a stout offensive line and the plethora of talent Bama has at the skill positions, I think you'll see him have great season.

Yeah, I have to say I was overall pleased as well with our performance. As many of you pointed out the two areas of concern did show some last night. I will also say that I think alot of it was due to the caliber team we played in Virginia Tech. They were truly deserving of their #7 ranking as they played like it. Saban just pulled the "Rocky 3" game plan and just let them beat on us till they got tired and we then let the offense loose.
Freak, I gotta say though I'm a tad(just a tad) concerned about North Texas. I picked them for the Thursday night just due to the amount of points thinking Ball State would win but not by that many. Never imagined them beating Ball State so badly though...
So I guess we move to #4 in the polls now?
