    National Signing Day!!!
    When is National Signing Day?

National Signing Day falls on Wednesday, February 5 this year. Players who have yet to commit will announce their futures throughout the day, beginning from approximately 9 a.m. ET.

Who is the No. 1 recruiting school?

Georgia holds the upper hand. Twenty-three players have committed to the Bulldogs so far, including five all-star recruits and 15 four-star prospects.

Alabama and Clemson are next in line. The Crimson Tide has secured four five-star players and 18 four-star recruits among its 26 commitments, while the Tigers have five five-star prospects and 12 four-star recruits.
Alabama, however, could top the list if it manages to land four-star defensive lineman McKinnley Jackson.
Meanwhile, defending national champions LSU and Ohio State are currently in fourth and fifth place respectively, with both schools securing three five-star prospects and 14 four-star players.
Who are the players to watch?

A number of high-profile players are expected to sign letters of intent on Wednesday, but one five-star prospect may have to wait a bit longer.

    Zachary Evans
Evans remains the highest-ranked uncommitted player ahead of Wednesday. A five-star prospect, the running back from North Shore High School in Houston, Texas, committed to Georgia in December, before changing his mind.
The Bulldogs released him with no restriction but Evans is expected to skip national signing day altogether as he can't sign a second letter of intent.
He has visited LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Texas A&M, but his future may remain unclear for a while longer yet.
    McKinnley Jackson
Unlike Evans, Jackson is expected to commit on Wednesday.
A four-star prospect from George County High School in Mississippi, he has reportedly received 22 offers after an incredible senior season.
    The defensive tackle racked up 76 tackles—61 solo—and a jaw-dropping 37 tackles for a loss.
Jackson has visited Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Texas A&M so far, with Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M thought to be the front runners.
    Avantae Williams
A safety from Deland High School, Florida, Williams has reportedly received 27 offers. A four-star recruit, Williams was a one-time Oregon commit but now looks set to accept an offer from Florida instead.
    Malik Hornsby
Like Williams, Hornsby has a wide range of schools to choose from, with some 26 offers landing on his desk.
The dual-threat quarterback guided Fort Bend Marshall High School, Texas, to a 14-2 season last year, reaching the state title game.
Hornsby racked up over 2,200 yards through the air with 29 touchdowns, to which he added 1,500 rushing yards and 17 scores on the ground.
He has taken official visits to Purdue, Arkansas, Baylor and Texas A&M.
    Alfred Collins
Another four-star prospect from Texas, the Cedar Creek High School product has received offers from Oklahoma, Alabama, Baylor, Texas and Texas A&M.
The defensive end racked up 86 tackles, 35 tackles for a loss and forced four fumbles in 10 games last season.

They should have a National "Transfer Portal" Day. Watch how many players jump ship at Michigan State with the abrupt resignation of Dantonio. Talk about something obviously being wrong at Michigan State. Auburn's leading rusher of last season, Ja Tarvious Whitlow has also decided to leave and enter the transfer portal.

"transfer portal" day would be great....... for lesser Big 5 teams like Oregon State or Illinois, it seems like it's the easier way to get elite prospects

i see USC did get a top 50 prospect, although he might not have been yesterday but earlier

i understand a few teams dominate high end recruiting, but this deadline seemed ridiculous as to top SEC teams getting the players. i guess if you were not 5-star or highish 4-star you pounced on your best offer at december deadline

The transfer portal makes Signing Day that less important. If you do not like the school you signed on with, just leave. College Football has followed the way of College Hoops. One or two years and then to the pro's for the good players. Then it is 1 contract and out of the pros for most of those players. It is a great way of holding down the costs of sports. How much money are these kids going to make in college for using their likenesses when they are only around for 1 or 2 seasons?

Who had the best day? I still like UF to make it to the CFP.

illinois has no recruits in-state.. gonna load up on transfers. probably oregon state too.

seems like a great model for these types of schools......... USC? and yes, i'm serious that it makes sense. the trojans will have the playing time to give transfers these days.
