No, he never touched the field of play. Even though his body was leaning over the 1-yard line, you have to make contact, as opposed to a runner going in for a TD, who only has to break the plane.

I agree, and he was definitely in the grasp, and should have been ruled down. Still, Virginia Tech was definitely the right side of this game. It could easily have been 45-10.

VT should have won that game by alot more than they did i thought. i couldn't believe they let them hang around all the way til the 4th quarter, before they scored that last TD to put them up by 20
