The 4+ TDs being given to South Atlantic against South Carolina are too many to pass up in this Saturday night tilt.
Now we know that South Carolina is the better team from the far superior conference here, but can we really give more than four touchdowns with the Gamecocks?
Remember after all that this is a South Carolina team that scored a total of 15 points in two games vs. Division I competition this season. Furthermore, the Gamecocks were not impressive in a 27-20 win over Division I-AA Wofford last week, getting out-rushed in that contest 278 yards to 160. In fact, South Carolina managed just three points in the second half of that contest.
Now granted, Florida Atlantic has only scored a total of 14 points in three games, but at this spread that actually becomes irrelevant if SC cannot score 28 points. Given that the Gamecocks scored 27 points vs. a Division I-AA school last week, it is certainly not automatic here that they will score enough points to cover even if they pitch a shutout. In a spot where a 27-0 loss would still be good enough to cash our ticket, we will take these generous points with the Owls in this spot.
