Alex Smart: Play Hawaii vs. UNLV
By: Alex Smart
Hawaii hosts UNLV Saturday in Honolulu, and home field advantage is just one reason to play the host Warriors against the Rebels.
Mike Sanford’s UNLV program still looks below average in my opinion as last year's 2-9 record indicated.
The Rebels were outscored by nearly 16 PPG during the 2005 season and were bombed by 25-plus points on four different occasions. They started out on a high note in 2006 beating a lowly Idaho State program, and stayed competitive against an over-rated Iowa State team in their second game. But with starting QB Rocky Hinds not at 100% or expected to miss this trip to Paradise Island, things may revert back to last year's standards quickly.
With that said, their hosts the Hawaiian Warriors continue to churn out dynamic offensive teams and QBs as Colt Brennan slings downfield to two 1000-yard receivers in what is always a take no prisoners game plan. As we all know Hawaii owns one of college footballs top home field advantages, and they prove it here again this Saturday.
