Michigan State -7 or Northwestern +7
This game really jumped out at me. I've watched both of these play in person. Northwestern was expected to be a contender for the Big 10. They now sit at 0-6 in league play. After starting the season 4-0 they had a legitimate chance to beat Ohio State at home. Ohio State scored 20 points in the 4th quarter.... the final TD off a fumble with no time left (that either saved or screwed betters) to steal the win away from Northwestern. Northwestern has been in a tailspin since. They then got manhandled at Wisc (a very good team), lost by 3 to Minnesota (the Big 10 surprise team of the season), lost to a solid Iowa team by 7 and then lost to Nebraska on a hail mary. Michigan State FINALLY beat Nebraska.... a game they talked about before the season began. But if you watched the game..... NEBRASKA beat NEBRASKA that day. 5 turnovers.... 3 in the first quarter. Michigan States average scoring drive was 35 yards! Nebraska turned the ball over inside the 10 yard line twice! MSt defense is over rated. I really think Northwestern has a chance to win this game. Michigan State has locked in the Big 10 championship game. I think there is a letdown here. My prediction..... Northwestern 31 Michigan State 30.

Northwestern beat Michigan State AT Michigan State 23-20 last year. If anyone wants to say this is a revenge game...... I just want to say Oregon vs Stanford was a revenge game too.

First of all, it is obvious that you think you are a Big 10 expert. That is a huge stretch. To say that Northwestern is good at all is nothing more than B.S. Michigan State has a very good defense, as your sorry Nebraska team found out last week. Northwestern is not going to put up many points. They have been held to just 76 points in their last 5 games, 24 of those coming against a very poor Nebraska team. Michigan State has the #1 defense in the NCAA. MSU is also 6-1 ATS at Northwestern. This game is over by halftime. Take MSU and give the 7.

Nebraska found out that Michigan State Defense is a joke. Nebraska rushed for 182 yards "against the best run defense in the nation". NOT because Nebraska is good. Because Michigan St defense is not as good as the numbers suggest. The best team Michigan State played this year is ND and ND is not that great. I guess we wont know until Saturday.

            take MSU

I agree with bd here....nebraska is up and down and you never know what team to expect...they have plenty of talent, just hasn't come through all the time...MSU defense is nails...they are legit.

northwestern is not going to hang here...for whatever reason this year they hit a turning point in the way wrong direction (yes, injuries i know), but they are just snakebitten this year...they are not getting the bounces they normally get under Fitzy...

            I like MSU by 14+...

Nebraska offense is a joke, outside of Abdullah. Michigan State defense is way over rated. They gave up quite a bit of rushing yardage to Nebraska. By the way Nebraska O-line is currently a patch work unit due to injuries. I have watched quite a bit of Big Ten football. The conference is garbage. There is no elite team right now. That includes Ohio State. The game is a complete toss up. Northwestern has been in a tailspin since the Ohio State game. If Northwestern had a run game that wasnt so reliant on finesse I would lean there way. Michigan State is the more physical team, but they are not explosive. I wouldnt touch this game on sides, but perhaps would lean under the total. Should be interesting to see how Michigan State responds to meeting there team goal of beating Nebraska. Do they build momentum or become satisfied and complacent. BTW, Wisconsin might be the best team in this conference right now. Look for them to attack Minnesota's weakness and hand out another beat down. That is where my money will be this weekend.

I agree with Wisconsin. I also agree with Nebraska being a very bad team that had no problems moving the ball on Michigan State. Nebraska turned the ball over 5 times! 3 times in the 1st Q.... and still had a chance to win. Michigan State has played NOBODY this year. Michigan State is probably the 4th best team in the Big 10. They MIGHT win.... but the home team hangs in there.

Tease it down 6 points to -1.5. Duke would be my pick to tease it with...brings that one down to a zero.

                        ok

iowa had a decent rush offense, although starting around that time, they went stale a bit on that front...indiana's offense is decent statistically...notre dame and michigan each ranked around 4oth in rushing/passing yards on the season, so just ok there, nebraska has a good rushing Offense.

I'll concede they haven't played any offensive powers, however that also continues this week with northwestern...i just can't imageine a scenario where NW scores that many points against MSU...just a personal opinion

I can see you might be smarting from Neb loss, but saying Sparty D is a JOKE? Seriously? Makes you look like bitter homer going against the team that just beat you. Worse, clouded homer vision has caused you to embrace a team that has lost 6 straight.

Sparty penetrating swarms to ball and looks to lay the wood. Caused Cornhuskers to turn the ball over 5 TIMES last week. 5 times!!

Spartans # 1 Run D,#5 Pass,#1 Total, #4 Scoring D in the land. Read those again more slowly and tell me that's a joke.

MSU wins here and they are in B10 Title game. Hold edge over Wisky and should meet Ohio St. Yeah, game means nothing. Clinching division not important.

On the other hand, Wildcats season in funk, losing 6 straight. Why so much confidence in Cats against a perfect 6-0 in conf Sparty? If it's because Sparty D is a joke, you will have a rude awakening come Sat.

You know, kind of like those Huskers had last Sat. Sparty coach Dantonio head and shoulders above clown Husky coach Pelini. Pelini is the only joke I see in this discussion.

MSU might win, but NW will likely cover.

There is no real "home field advantage" here for the Wildcats. There will be as much green as purple in the stands.

I am still loathe to say that Northwestern is not a good team. I mean ...

How’s this for the last six weeks?

                                        - Losing to great team in tough battle. You have the puck on your stick at home in front of the entire sports-watching world with a chance to beat Ohio State, and you lose after failing to convert a fourth down play that could’ve gone either way.
                                        - Losing to tough team in a bad matchup. Demoralized, the lifeless Wildcats, coming off a physical beating of a game, faced a rested Wisconsin team coming off a bye and was steamrolled 35-6.
                                        - Losing by screwing up. NU outplayed Minnesota, but turned it over three times with one of the picks going for a touchdown.
                                        - Losing in overtime. The Wildcats had all the momentum with a 10-0 run in the second half to force overtime against Iowa. The dead Hawkeye offense got a touchdown in the extra frame; NU took a sack on fourth down.
                                        - Losing on horrific bad luck. Down 24-21, Nebraska quarterback Ron Kellogg underthrows his Hail Mary, it gets tipped up in the air and into the arms of Jordan Westerkamp for the improbable win.
                                        - Losing to mediocre superpower on an improbable field goal with 0:00 flickering that sent the game to three overtimes and failing to come up through on the final possession.Michigan 27, Northwestern 19.
