I think Texas (if they win), USC and Utah all have cases.

It didn't help Texas' case when Texas Tech was embarrassed by Ole Miss though.

I dont think that changed anything. Texas still beat OU and everyone already knew Texas Tech was not that good.

I just know that Texas players were told if they thumped Ohio State they would be co-champs if OU wins. I like Texas against Ohio State because Ohio State SUCKS AND Texas has motivation to beat up on them.

Atleast they DID.

I say there is NO way for a split champ now..... unless the AP gives it to UTAH.

WE NEED A DAMN PLAYOFF ALREADY!

Texas was told that if they beat Ohio St they had a shot at the SPLIT national championship. Their chances were MUCH greater IF they beat Ohio St convincingly AND OU won.

BUT now.... Utah finished the regular season undefeated. They didn't beat a NOBODY in their bowl game..... they beat Alabama who was #1 for 5 weeks.

So in all reality..... that should completely take away any talk of Texas getting the split.

That was a very impressive win for Utah last night. They beat a damn good Alabama team. Utah went undefeated beating BYU, TCU, Oregon St, Airforce, and now Bama. In my eyes they deserve a split of the N. Title. Even if Texas does beat Ohio St. I know many will disagre, but thats my 2 cent

Thats the big question. Who deserves to be National Champions? Utah 13-0, impressive as Kronc showed who they beat. They thrashed Alabama who was No. 4, they were(Utah) No. 7. Florida is No.1 and Okla is No.2. Play Thursday night for the National title the winner is No. 1. Texas No. 3 Plays No. 10 Ohio Monday for bragging Right's?. The point is the system isn't working to find the best team who is NUMBER 1. Texas, Florida, Okla all have one thing in common, 1 LOSS. Utah has ZERO. should they be number 1, another problem to solve. This debate could go on and on for many discussions. I hope they can find the solution to fix the answer to who is NUMBER 1.

Here we go.....
I was about to start with the "SEC is better than anyone else" speech and they play a harder schedule but it really comes down to a play off. Even if the SEC teams, or Big 12 teams(top to bottom) are better than the mountain West it still does not make them the champions just because.........

We should have the conferences show us themselves. I know that sounds so "Cliche" but that is really the case. Playoff games could be bowl games.....Although we could not have 33 of them.

Well for now it seems we are stuck with our crappy bowl system to tell us what we already know. Not what the teams can prove......

Can USC beat Florida, Oklahoma, Utah or Texas? We would know if we could have them play each other in a round.... This conversation is getting beat like a dead horse!!!!!!11
