A Different Analysis of the SEC Champ game.
All kinds of analysis done this week, so I thought I would look into something different and just see what kind of talent is really on these two football teams, and more importantly, in the starting lines ups. What I did was go to rivals.com (have a membership there) and compiled how many stars were on each of the team's offense or defense. (Rivals lists their HS prospects on a star rating system. 5 being the highest level. The results are shown below.

When the Tide has the ball...

    Bama O

    38 stars.

***** 2 5 star guys in WR Julio Jones and OT Andre Smith.

    **** 2 4 star prospects

    *** 6

** 1 Offensive tackle opposite of Smith

    Gators D

    46 stars.

***** 2 5 star guys in LB Spikes and DE Carlos Dunlap.

**** The rest of the starters are all 4 star guys.

    -----------------

    When Florida has the ball...

    FLA 0

    44 stars

***** Tebow, Harvin (Harvin was actually the #1 player in the country in 2006), and OG Carl Johnson

**** Demps, Hernandez, Thompson, and the Pouncey Twins.

*** Murphy along with two offensive linemen

    Bama D

    40 stars

**** McClain, Hightower, Johnson and 5 others

    *** Arenas and 3 others.

What does all of this mean? Who the hell knows, but did it for myself and figured I would post. Obviously players get better and also get worse. (Hell, the FLA wr Moore was a 5 star coming out and barely sees the ball. Xavier Lee was a 5 star QB coming out and never got it together at FSU a few years ago.)

    BOL.

I am on FLA at pretty much any line at 10 or under, and would recommend you do the same.
