    2006 Ohio State Football Breakdown
this buckeyes team definately deserves there top 5 ranking this year, because this team is stacked once again this year.

the buckeyes have 18 returning starters, and all the key offensive players are returning. that included the 3 main cogs in the buckeyes offense as well in QB troy smith, RB antonio pittman and WR/KR ted ginn jr.

with the talent level they have returning, along with a very good recruiting class this year. i feel this team could make a really nice push to challenge for the national championship this year.

my prediction is the buckeyes will get 11-1 this year

I'm sorry, but this team is not as good as people think. They are bad defensively, and their QB is badly overrated. An easy schedule could lead to a 10-2 season, but they aren't a legitimate national championship contender, in my opinion.

i feel they will beat texas, and Iowa is the only really tough game they have to play on the road on big 10 this year.

I think that MSU game in East Lansing could give them trouble. But I do think that beat Texas.

You're right wassy - Stanton should torch that horrendous secondary. If Sparty can hold the Bucks to 30, I think they win.

I agree that Michigan St. should beat them, although I like OSU's chances to steal the game in Texas,. I would not be surprised if they go 12-0 though. I would give them about a 20% chance to run the table.

The Ohio State Buckeyes national title hopes suffered a setback with starting tight end Marcel Frost being suspended for the year. Frost, a fourth-year junior will miss the season due to an unspecified violation of team rules. Sophomore Rory Nicol is now slated to be the #1 tight end. This could hurt the buckeyes.
