As a die hard Penn fan I have to say, why? Why BJ? He stays in a division higher than his natural weight against guys much stronger, then accepts fights with the worst match ups for him possible. It's as if he's looking for ass whippings. Love Penn but have to say MacDonald w/ a Penn in 1st hedge in case BJ could catch him before he gets taken down and worn out again. I really hope I lose money on this fight

#4It feels like Rory should be a -900 fav and a lock-- but for some reason, I think BJ will submit him.
I think BJ could top him on the feet, and when taken down, catch him in an armbar or something...Comment -

#9I don't have to think too hard about this one... or even look for VALUE. Rory is going to smash BJ and make it look easy. BJ is a legend... but his best days are behind him. The only way I see him pulling off an upset is by sub. No way is Rory going to just let him outbox him on the feet... he will get it to the ground and work him. Ares by bacne.... to the death!Last edited by sirchadwick1; 06-07-12, 10:38 AM.Comment -

#11I've passed the Monte Carlo one hundred times and its the only strip casino I've never been in. I've never heard of anyone going in there, or staying there, I always assumed it was a hologram.Comment -

#15I've stayed there twice now. I like the fast food they have there. Players Club doesn't give me good deals on the better hotels. I've only stayed at Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, Excalibur, MGM, and Mirage.Comment -

#16Penn needs to hope this isn't a five rounder which it could possibly be. I think it will be tight thru one and a half rounds with Penn picking Rory apart. Then size and strength beats weak cardio 10 out of ten times. Of course Penn will say he is in the best condition of his life.Comment -

#17That's what I was thinking as well... but there are a ton of BJ nuthuggers out there who still think he'll be WW champ some day.
He's just got to come in "in shape" and "mentally ready". We've all heard the drill....Comment -

#19I hope Penn kicks his ass. I have always liked Penn.
But lets not kid ourselves into think BJ will come in shape or even motivated.
What is worse than an older, unmotivated BJ Penn at 170lbs? An older, unmotivated, semi-retired BJ Penn at 170lbs.
He has lost time on his layoff from the sport. It isn't like he "retired" and was still working hard in the gym each day. He was probably coaching some guys up and laying on the beach the rest of the day. He wasn't too into working hard and being fully prepared before....now he has time lost to make up for.
BJ Penn at WW in today's MMA is just wrong. He shouldn't be there.Comment -

#20Its sad because there are so many great fights for him at 155. Probably start off with a hell of a 1st round, followed by a gassed BJ.Comment -
