Lesnar out... Dos santos vs carwin...
Dana White just reported that former UFC Champ Brock Lesnar is suffering another case of diverticulitis. Junior Dos Santos will now face Shane Carwin on June 11th.

Much more interesting fight IMO, odds are gonna be interesting for this one, guess Carwin will be Evens underdog maybe

Carwin will get ktfo. He's way to slow and has no gas tank.

I wouldn't be so sure. JDS has a decent chin, but he keeps his hands low and is a rather hittable fighter.

        Very intriguing fight.

Shit. I've had $ tied up in JDS/Brock for a long time now... was getting excited for it. Now I have to rethink things.

God, the level of standup skill is so drastic in this fight. JDS does leave himself open a bit, but he's a way better boxer than Carwin. Carwin has that huge lucky puncher's chance in this fight as always though. He may try and stall against the cage like he did with Mir, since he's not gonna want to go blow for blow with JDS.

                    equally good replacement imo.

presents a different challenge to jds but the matchup is just as interesting.

still really excited for this fight.

Yeah, I had money on both JDS and Carwin. Bit irritating.

Shane carwin probably wont be quick enough, his best chance is a first round knockout. I cant see him controlling the fight or beating Jds in round 2 or 3.

Why not explain nicely why you think he failed? You come across an mma elitist asshole. Gives casual fans a break, not everyone is going to make the sport their obsession enough to know the true mechanics of the sport and clash of styles.

Anyway, I don't see Carwin taking the middle of the octagon and trading with JDS if he can help it. I think he'll opt to bully him up against the fence and unload with the same short but brutal uppercuts he destroyed Mir with.

Has Carwin lost a significant amount of muscle mass? If not he will probably gas again a Carwin Round 1 KO prop bet along with a straight wager on JDS may be profitable.

I don't understand the stalling claim. Carwin finished Mir in the first round after hitting him in the ear with the shortest knockout punches I've ever seen. I fail to see how using your fist to make someone unconscious in the first round is stalling.

Carwin finished Mir in the first round after hitting him in the ear with the shortest knockout punches I've ever seen. I fail to see how using your fist to make someone unconscious in the first round is stalling.
I thought it was more the short right hand uppercuts that Carwin landed tht dropped Mir. But ur right he didnt stall Mir for too long against the cage, perhaps what he's sayin is the general strategy was to pin Mir against the cage in the first place.

I wouldn't say Carwin stalled in the Mir fight whatsoever. Miragliotta's separation was dumb.

Okay let's get something straight, I am a MMA elitist asshole and I've never claimed to be anything other than that. It probably has something to do with the fact I've been following the sport since it's inception but also been training off and on in BJJ since the 90's.

Most opinions I read about the sport are complete shite, and I will continue to treat those opinions and the people who hold them with either ridicule, scorn, and/or derision.

But the fact of the matter is I also write posts filled with thoughtful well reasoned analysis on both the fighters and their past fights. It's why people ask me in my thread or by directly messaging me for my opinions. So forgive me if I'm curt in my response to a particular poster, obviously it's clear I don't put much into his or her opinion on the matter. There have been plenty of times where I've given one word response only to follow it up with an exhaustive analysis in a later piece. HAVE YOU EVER DONE THAT? By the way, who are you to even question me, my response, or the manner in which I address something?

If what I write really bothers you, then I suggest you stop being such a MMA emo bitch and get over it. Honestly, grow some balls. This is is the last time I will address this or you directly. Do you understand plebeian?

It worked out for him ultimately, but that fight was starting to drag until those short punches woke everybody up and put Mir out. I doubt Carwin will have the same success against JDS, but if he refused to trade with Mir, I have serious doubts he's gonna want to trade with JDS. He will stall with clinch work, I believe.
