    MMA Bankroll Management
How do you MMA only bettors manage your bankroll?

Do you bet to win a percentage of your bankroll? or do you risk a percentage based on the line?

Personally, I pretty much flat bet (risk) 5% of my bankroll on favorites, and 2% on underdogs.

But I am thinking about switching t hings up to a more efficient system... maybe betting to win 2%, regardless of the line.

So what do you guys do?

I don't think you should bet a flat amount on all fights. You should be putting more units on picks you are really confident in and less on weaker picks. Take UFC 108 for example. I went big on Evans and Ellenberger, and had small bets on Jensen and Hazelett. I went 2-2 but was up over 5u. If I had had flat bet those it would have been a losing night. You should set a limit for your best bets. Something like 10u max on your best plays and 1u on plays you aren't so sure on. Bet somewhere between 10u-1u based on the confidence you have in that pick.

That is how I used to do it, but it was a 1-5unit range. But I am pretty selective in my fights, I usually only bet 1 or 2 fights per event... and then only when I have a lot of confidence. I found I was making pretty much all 5u (max) plays. So I just said, screw it, and made it all 5 units, either I like the fight or I dont.

Betting 10% on a fight risks ruin too much for me. I won't go over 5 or 6% on any one fight, no matter how good I feel about it (although I did plunk down 7% once in December).

I bet 1-4 units, 1 unit = 1% bankroll. Basically I rate my confidence in fights between 1-4 if a fight gets a 4 I bet 4 units simple as that; I generally save 1 unit bets for heavy underdogs that I feel are under valued and have a solid chance of winning.
