    Kos vs Rumble...
This fight was announced weeks ago...the only explanation for why they haven't released the odds is that the people in Vegas love both these guys and can't agree on a fair line

In the past Kos was a 5/1 favorite vs Paulo Thiago, getting KO'd in the first round
He was a 2/1 dog vs GSP, losing a decision
He was -150 vs Alvez, losing a one-sided decision
He was a 5/1 favorite vs Yoshida, KOing him in the 1st
he was a 3/1 favorite vs Lytle, finishing him in the 2nd
He was a 4/1 favorite vs Trigg, finishing him in the 1st
he was a 3/1 favorite vs haslett, finishing him by headkick and punches
he was a 2/1 dawg vs Diego, winning a boring decision

Rumble, however, is maybe the best athlete in the sport...
he lost in 07 to Rich Clementi, which is embarrassing, but he's improved since then and hasn't lost one fight except for the fight he got poked in the eye, which he avenged a few months later by brutal headkick. Since then, he's a KO machine.

    My prediction for the odds:
    Koscheck -130.
    Rumble EVEN

    My take:
Stand up: Heavy advantage Rumble...this guy is quick, accurate, and he can KO u with his hands or feet...

    Ground: small Advantage Kos.

Prediction: Kos will get tagged standing and try to take him down, but Rumble, also a former wrestling state champ, will be too big and athletic (just like Alvez) and he won't be able to take down the superior, bigger athlete...this fight should look similar to Alvez vs Kos.

There is another thread saying Kos is around -190 I thought. Sounds kinda wacky to me (if true).

True. Kos opened at -195 on 5dimes, and he's now an underdog on that book.
        Johnson -120
        Koscheck -110

I think the line opened so high in Koscheck's favour simply due to popularity. Johnson must've been hammered when bettors saw that he was plus money (+155).

I'll be betting on Johnson because of his sheer size. Keep in mind, this guy is a huge welterweight. Prior to his fight against Yoshida, Johnson said he went into his training camp at 220lbs, and at the weigh-ins, he came in at 176.

I think Johnson will have a better attempt at making weight, but come fight time, I wouldn't be surprised if he was 195, which is about the same size as Thiago Alves.

I see Johnson winning this fight by TKO, and the moneyline should continue to move in his direction. If you want to bet on Johnson, the sooner the better!

I like the play but lets not get too crazy, cardio is still a big issue imo

let us not forget his first fight with kevin burns along with getting choked out by rich cleminte, I could see koshceck controlling the second half of the fight if it makes it there

im not touching the fight. Everything says trap too me. Johnson is easily one of the fastest rising stars in popularity in the ufc(possibly ever), gets plenty of betting action and would against anyone. So why would he open at +155 against kos. Im glad i got forrest and grove to bank on.

i'm not being crazy. We all know Koscheck will try to take it to the ground given Johnson's standup game and who's to say that he can at will? Johnson is a wrestler first and he can probably nullify the attempts well enough to land a big shot, plus he was very new against Clementi.

Dont think too deep about MMA openers, they put out terrible lines all of the time. Just look at this card..

                          Hazlett opened at +285

Stripolous (sp?) -280 against Dent is terrible imo

                          Forrest opened as a dog

                          Cane +160

All bad lines imo and this is just one card/ A little over a year ago, Cain Valesquez opened at a pick em against a guy with a day job. An aulstralian ditch digger for crying out loud. I am always waiting for the day when the books are going to wise up to mma, and they have some what, but they still have alot of work to do. Big MMA fans are sharper than the books.

If Johnson misses weight again he'll probably be booted from the UFC.

No way they boot him, but i could see them making him move to 185 if he does miss weight again
