I think the state athletic commissions pick the judges and he's been tight with NSAC for a long time. Not 100% sure about that whole process though.

I think the ufc/Dana have some influence. We've seen Mazzagatti and Yamasaki get effectively banned from ufc events. Might be tougher to bar judges though.

True I can't think of any examples of judges being permanently removed. Adelaide Byrd is Public Enemy #1 there.
